It was a sight that made her feel like a woman transformed from the ashes of her past. Seated in the luxurious car, Abigail couldn't contain her wonder. She looked around, taking in the remarkable transformation that had occurred in her life. It felt surreal, like a dream she never wanted to wake up from. The pain of her losses was still fresh, but the promise of a brighter future was undeniable.

She appeared like her secretary reiterating his schedule for the day. Abysses went out to give him privacy. Eleand wore his black battle suit. He found Abysses waiting outside his room, and they went down together. “Where you from?” he asked her while strolling down the stairs. “I’m an Alegerian but originally from Water domain—Alsache today.” His eyes widened. “Really? So, you know Winzi?” Abysses shrugged. “Not really, but I’ve heard about the stubborn princess. Her great grandfather was a good friend of mine. Too bad he died in the Great Fae War.”

Ryan fell into formation at my flank. The tunnel narrowed. The core was close. The mountain inhaled through my son. I inhaled back through it. And this time, the abyss wasn't studying my child. It was studying me. The Queen did not walk into the abyss. The mother did. And the abyss— Had just been hacked.

“He’s mine. He always has been. I won’t lose him like I lost Saint. Not like this.” Tessa and Wolf exchanged a glance, reading the desperation in my eyes. Finally, Tessa stepped back. “Then don’t come back the same.” --- DESCENDING INTO THE ABYSS I jumped. The world dropped away beneath me. The darkness surged, swallowing sound and light, pressing against my chest like an ocean of shadows. Luca’s energy pulsed ahead of me, guiding me through the chaos, glowing blue against the abyss’s black maw. The walls shifted, twisting like the inside of a nightmare. Shadows coiled around me, trying to claw at my limbs, my thoughts, my soul. Every step I took felt like walking through fire.

My chest heaved with fury, my blood still singing with the image of Diego’s monstrous form tearing away into the forest. “Animal.” The word came like a blade at my back. I turned sharply. Sage was there, leaning against the stone wall, his face shadowed but his eyes gleaming with a sharp, infuriating calm. “That’s what you just saw, Ava,” he said, pushing off the wall and falling into step behind me. “That’s what you’re defending. An animal who can’t even control himself.” I stopped dead, spinning to face him. My hands curled into fists at my sides. “Don’t you dare call him that.”

This was the Abyss. The path ended sooner than I expected. My foot slid against gravel and pebbles skittered down, bouncing into emptiness. I crouched, stretching my hand outward, and felt nothing but air. My stomach knotted as I realized I was standing at the lip of a pit so vast I couldn’t measure it. My ears strained, but no echo returned. That was worse than hearing it. It was the proof of a bottomless hunger, a place where sound itself was swallowed whole. And then the eyes appeared.

The abyss was right there—just a few more strides. I pushed harder, my feet pounding against the earth. The trees opened up, revealing the jagged cliffs of the Silver Abyss. The ground dropped off sharply, a chasm of darkness stretching endlessly below. My vision blurred with crimson hues, the curse overtaking my senses, but I forced my legs to carry me forward. With one final burst of energy, I jumped. The air rushed past me, cold and biting against my burning skin. For a moment, I was weightless, suspended between the cursed energy threatening to consume me and the safety of the abyss.

Steven replied. “Firstly, how did all the council members get killed and replaced without a single soul knowing about it? Even their families are unaware that their husbands and wives are fake. Secondly, what are abyss demons?” Noah asked. “When abyss demons with the ranking of lords kill mortal beings, the person is instantly teleported to the abyss realm. They must have learned everything they had to know about the council before hand, so their job was clean. Abyss demons are creatures from a realm in a completely separate reality from ours. It's a lot to explain, but you'll find out enough when you encounter one yourself, Noah Montgomery,” Gabriella spoke.

That brought a smile to his face, and he quickly looked down at his feet. He had enough time to carry out his dreams. For now, he was just simply content with being blessed with the grace to stand next to the Abomination. Unknown to him, at a hidden part of the realm in a cave, a dark set of eyes peered at him through the glassy mirror of a boiling cauldron, their smile menacing. THE END. Or is it?
