We worked independently, bouncing ideas and theories off eachother when we needed to, feeding off on one another's energy as we plowed on in search of a Hail Mary to save our people. Suddenly my mother leapt up, an "A-Ha" moment striking her in all forms. She raced out of the room and up the stairs without a word, and I could hear her verbally shout the phrase from somewhere upstairs. She clamored back downstairs, a huge navy book in tow. Just before he could move, the darkness around them surged, shaping an enormous, shadowy figure that towered over them.
