Rogues surged forward to cover him, buying him space.
Cowardly… but smart, I thought.
I wiped blood from my mouth, eyes locked on him through the chaos. Around us, the eastern wing roared, my warriors finally breaking parts of his formation, forcing his fighters backward step by step.
He backed away slowly, breathing heavier now, one hand pressed against the bleeding cut across his chest.
“This isn’t over, Alpha,” he said, voice low. “You’re only at the edge of the fire.”
“Good,” I answered, advancing. “Because I came to burn it down.”
