The Alpha President's Regret Novels & Stories

It reminded me that while Ryan played the gracious President, smiling for cameras and foreign guests, I was the one people spoke about in lowered voices. The Alpha who lost his Luna to the president, as his forefathers lost to the president's. It felt humiliating to smile at them and be respectful, knowing they were laughing behind my back for what happened. They called me the man who dreams big, talks big, but couldn’t keep his household in order. The Alpha who let another man take his mate, and is living under his roof. Elena.

I paused again before continuing. "You see, son, why the Alpha became the way he did was because he was full of regrets. He regretted his actions towards his mate. If he had accepted her and not sent her away, he would have been able to protect her and prevented a lot of things. However, his regret became tenfold when he later realized what he had done when he went berserker. It consumed him so much that he could not live on and ended up killing himself. But the deed had been done. He had destroyed half of the werewolf world and left the other half in a terrible state."

“You didn’t think this through. Alpha Greg is one of your father’s closest friends. And he’s—” “An old fool who spoke ill of my wife,” I cut in. “No one gets to do that.” Her eyes widened, nostrils flaring. “All of that for Freya? Have you lost your mind?” “Yes.” She squinted, forcing a smile. “Tomorrow, you’ll meet everyone you almost killed and apologize. You need their support if you want to be Alpha President.” I placed a hand on her shoulder, pulling her closer. Her fresh, familiar scent calmed me—I smiled.

I hesitated. "Astarte... I understand. I know what Seth means to you. And... while I can say... with utter confidence that I couldn't be sure I would take a different path... I don't believe it's in you to punish the entire nation for the choices of one man..." Though the Alpha President was becoming more of a problem at the moment. "Perhaps not normally.... but it has been too long since I have had a semblance of normal." "I--"

The president walked in later escorted by his vice, some other high ranking wolves and surprisingly dad and the Alpha. 'What are dad and the Alpha doing in the president's entourage?' I asked. 'Ask me later,' the Luna said and I nodded. On the television, the Alpha took the podium looking like a lost pup. His face looked so unhappy with bags under his eyes, an evidence of the fact that he hadn't slept well in recent times. I actually pitied him, no one would want their reign riduled with such revelation but it had to be done. I couldn't help but wonder in the recess of my heart if he too was a part of the syndicate responsible for reducing girls to nothing but objects of selfish pleasure.

“And when you start to regret your choice, I will show you no mercy.” He leaves fuming while my body shakes behind Lent. Of course he will regret it. I knew the truth of those words as Alpha Reenan uttered them, but even I did not predict just how much the alpha would be right.

Pain flickered in his golden eyes. “Lara, I told you it was only a temporary measure. Why did you actually submit your resignation to the elder? “And you knew it was a scam all along. Why didn’t you tell me? “Was it fun, watching me look like a fool, being toyed with?!” By now, he was trembling with anger and humiliation. An Alpha’s pride was everything. In just a few hours, he had fallen from the pack’s most shining leader to a laughingstock in front of everyone. It was a punishment harsher than any physical strike.

CHAPTER TEN For a long while, the room was swallowed by silence. Not the calm kind—but the suffocating kind that pressed heavily against everyone’s chest. The shock of the scene left everyone utterly dumbstruck. Who in the pack didn’t know the marriage history between Alpha Ryker Hale and his ex-Luna, Ember Valen? It was a story whispered in every corner of the territory, a tragedy etched into collective memory. Yet now, seeing the Alpha—who had barely spoken in three years—clinging tightly to the very woman he had once rejected, no one knew whether to laugh or cry.

“Miss, perhaps you should step aside. Before the smell gets worse.” “Yes, please,” a younger woman added, fanning herself. “Some of us are trying to breathe here.” The laughter was deafening now. Leslie tried to speak but nothing came out. Her throat was closing. Her eyes were burning. She looked at Tony one more time. He wasn’t even looking at her anymore. He’d turned back to the cameras, that perfect smile plastered on his face again. “Go home, Leslie, the Northern Territory Alphas are watching.” he said quietly. Coldly. “And don’t come out until you figure out how not to embarrass me.”

Marcus stood at the front, his mate Elena beside him, both looking peaceful despite the magnitude of what was coming. "Thank you all for gathering," Marcus began. "As you know, I've been preparing to step down as Alpha. That transition happens in six days, during the winter solstice ceremony." Murmurs rippled through the crowd. "Skyler Voss will become your new Alpha. Wren Mercer will become Alpha's mate. Together, they'll lead this pack into the future." Marcus's gaze swept the room. "I've spent months training Skyler. Watching him grow from an enforcer struggling with control into a leader who embodies what this pack needs. He's ready."
