Fern walks towards me, flanked by the two witches and two warlocks I had already met before. “You know what to do, make them submit to you.” Her voice seems to travel the distance of the marquee and yet be a small whisper in my ear, only for me. “I…can’t.” I mutter. “Yes you can. This is what you were born for. You are the Alpha Luna, you are the missing piece of the puzzle. The bridge between the werewolf and lycan community. You have seen death Aida, mind magic can not work on you. Push your mind further than others, push your aura further than ever before.”

He hoped Lucian was listening to his ‘mate’. “He is a lot of things but stupid and ugly”, he said with a smile still plastered on his face, “You’ll see who he is”. They arrived in no time to meet the angry Alpha. He already got the news, he heard all that happened. As they climbed down from their cars, they met the angry Alpha Gonzalo and Luna Sierra. Aurora found her spot behind Adolphus while Lucian walked in front of them. “I already smell the human and I will not let her live on our lands, Lucian”, Gonzalo roared angrily.

“Elena, I know you're Luna of the pack, and I respect that. I really do. But Jenna is Lucy’s doctor. Julian assigned her to us. You can't steal her away from my daughter, it's not fair.” I froze. I froze at her cruelty and her small mind. “In case you've forgotten, I'm the Luna of the pack,” I growled at her as I felt my anger finally making its way to the surface. My eyes turned golden, and I saw Lucy hiding behind her mother, scared. “You do as I say, and I'm taking Dr. Jenna with me, understand?” Lauren tilted her head slightly. “M-maybe we should ask Julian before we make decisions about where she goes. You are the Luna, but he's the Alpha, and he appointed Jenna for my Lucy.”

She asked Amanda about Lucas and Grace. "L-Luna," Amanda said while huffing. It appeared that she rushed all the way here. Natalia got out of bed and asked, "Amanda, what–" Amanda interrupted her as she smiled brightly at her and said, “Luna, Alpha is back.”

"I, Layla Harris, accept the title of Luna over the New Moon Rising pack. I pledge myself and all that am to my pack and each of its members. From this day, forth I will defend and protect my pack in all ways with my body and life. Until my service has ended." Cayden, Dylan, Brandy, and Rebecca take their oaths to me and to the pack as well. As they say, the crowd goes wild. We faced each other and wrapped our arms around one another's waist. The line begins to form for the members to sip from the goblet. "I have a surprise for you, Alpha." Layla says softly to me. "What is that mate?" I asked her. She has already taken my breath away. I can't imagine what else she has in store.

But this time, I didn't give in. I moved my face away, in a way of telling her that I wasn't interested in the act anymore, but she didn't get the hint and just continued to pepper open-mouth kisses on my face. "Gross," Jeremy commented and I almost laughed at that. Now he found her gross? "Ryder, I was thinking_" And there we go again. "Now that you became Alpha, what are your plans on getting a Luna?" She asked and I froze. I knew exactly where she was heading and I wasn't going to disappoint.

Since I am going that way myself,' The Luna said. 'Okay then,' The Alpha agreed without argument. I got up and thanked the Alpha again before following the Luna outside. When we were out of ear shot of the Alpha's office, she turned and looked at me condescendingly. 'Just thank your stars that your useless brain decided to work today. I don't care what the Alphas do you, just make sure you keep my part in your meeting a secret forever else there would be consequences. Mind you, Alpha Roman and I are very close friends. One wrong move from you can be the end of your miserable life. I think you can find your way to the guest house,' The Luna said and walked in the opposite direction.

When he returned, he held a brown envelope in his hand, which he handed to me before taking his seat. I stared at it like it was a bomb. "What’s this?" I asked, unsealing the flap. "A contract." He said. I pulled out the papers inside, and my eyes landed on the bolded line at the top: “AGREEMENT FOR TEMPORARY LUNA APPOINTMENT.” My mouth fell open. "What kind of contract is this?" I whispered. He looked at me like he already knew I was going to ask that. "A contract to become my Luna for two years." Is this real? A girl like me being offered the role of Luna by the Alpha himself?
