Luna Anna gasps and whimpers, her mate quickly crossing the kitchen to stand with her. "Kids, go to my office," he orders his pups, and they all obediently hurry out of the room, the oldest helping the youngest. "Alpha Adamo, there is no female Alpha here. The only female of that stature is my mate," James quickly explains, pointing to his mate's mark on his neck. "I can smell her," Adamo snarls, and Silas' face drains of colour. "Fuck," he mutters under his breath, his eyes landing on his daughter.

Aiden cursed holding his aching chest. "How can that damn woman be the mate of an alpha werewolf?" murmured Aiden clenching his fists. "How dare you call my mate a goddamn woman! Do you want to die huh?" Ace's ears seem to be very sharp, even Aiden's very soft words can be heard. "Get out of here now! Or I assure you that you will never be able to live again!" threatened Ace. Aiden fell silent when Ace walked slowly towards him, he acknowledged that Ace's strength was greater than him. Because Aiden still loves life, he finally chose to leave there. "Friend, hmm... Have you two met before?" Another synchronized "No" from Anton while I shake my head again, perhaps a bit too vigorously. My heart is pounding so hard I'm sure everyone in the room can hear it. Please, please don't let them figure it out. The last thing I need right now is for everyone to know about the mate bond – and the rejection. "Well, then," Alpha Marcus says, though he still looks suspicious. "Let me make the formal introductions. This is Evelina." He gestures to me, then turns to Anton. "And this is Anton Blackwood, Alpha of the Emerald Pack."

I haven’t gotten to finish my words when the next thing he said shatters me. “Oh, please. I don’t think you deserve someone like me. A mere commoner and omega like you are not suitable for the future alpha of this pack. Do you really think I will help you and embrace you with open arms?” He said then harshly held my chin while looking into my eyes, “You are not the mate that I want and the girlfriend that I have right now will be the Luna of this pack, so let me tell you this, I rejected you as my mate. You got that?”

My wolf, whimpered in my chest, curling back into the shadows. “Now,” he growled, voice low and venomous, “you will receive your rejection, before I punish you for killing my brother.” My knees weakened as the weight of his words crashed into me. My heart broke into a thousand jagged pieces as the dream I’d clung to for a long time, the dream of meeting my mate and finding peace in his arms, crumbled into dust. “I, Alpha Thomas, reject you, Maya, as my mate,” he declared, each word like a blade slicing through the fragile hope I had left.

The finality in his tone left no room for doubt, cementing the reality of my situation in my mind. Alpha Mark had completely misinterpreted my intentions, believing I desired the Alphas as my mate. Summoning every ounce of courage, I felt compelled to articulate my feelings about the mating issue. “I don’t want to be the Alpha's mate; I simply want to live my life in the shadows, just as I always have,” I replied cautiously, ensuring my tone was measured and respectful so as not to provoke his anger.

This must have been what she wanted all along, she couldn’t kill me herself but if she could force me to leave, her goal would be accomplished anyway. I breathed in deeply and continued in a louder voice “ Today, with the moon goddess bearing me witness and under the eyes of everyone here, I hereby reject Alpha Carter as my mate.” The hall went silent, pack members turning to each other in confusion. Luna Sophia was on her feet, glaring fiercely at me. But I wasn’t paying attention to her. The moment I’d renounced the mate bond it felt as if something that had been tightly bound inside me had loosened. I could finally breathe a little easier.

After all, what Alpha would be interested in a woman who repeatedly rejected him? "I don't think he will reject you. I'm sure he's thinking about you." "But how is it possible?!" I shook my head to dislodge the thoughts from my head but Beta Thorne knocked on the door and walked in, providing the perfect distraction. "Sophia, the Alpha from the Embermoon Pack has sent an invitation to you.”

This was going to be painful for us both when the mate bond was completely shattered. “I, Allyssa Stone, accept…. your… rejection.” I struggled to run from him but he slapped me from behind. My body hurts all over as the contractions from the rejection grow, almost killing me. I cried in pain as my body twisted into a knot, but Alpha Jason didn't even glance at me for a second as his gaze remained focused on Janine with an insane Passion and loss. “Good! Come here, baby. Go on your knees.” He ordered her. With a mischievous smirk, Janine walked over to him and their lips collided against each other. Tears rolled from my eyes on the ground when I was forced to watch alpha Jason finish mating
