Amberleigh leaned her ass against Leo’s stretcher, careful not to touch any wires or tubes. She placed a hand over her belly. It wasn’t just the hormones making her feel sentimental. It was also a byproduct of this crazy day. She wondered how one day could bring so many different fucking emotions with it.

Shockingly, they had pulled together all of the arrangements for our Announcement Ceremony in less than eighteen hours. I looked out the window, down at the wide open expanse they used for Pack gatherings. The sun had gone down, and several fire pits were burning, and more than one hundred cut logs, spaced out in smaller groupings, for the wolves to sit on.
