The Bane Of My Existence Novels & Stories

Hello, everyone! This is XSkylar19. It has been a very interesting ride for me while writing Bane of the Dragons because (fun fact) this was my very first dragon genre. I know some of you probably disliked how everything turned out or how fastpaced everything happened but know that this was intentional as I couldn't drag the story on. Anyway, while this book becomes the first book for dragon genre, it certainly wasn't my first book in the fantasy genre.

My heart was filled with sad and bitterness. I shook my head with a sigh. I returned the sandwich back to the plate. I groaned out, holding my head. I'm really tired and exhausted. Everything doesn't seem good for me. Why is everything against me? Why is nature against me? This isn't supposed to be so. I hate myself and I hate my existence.

But before the darkness took me, I heard Bane’s voice one last time, loud and final. “Take her to one of my rooms, then go with the preparation of the Luna’s coming”, Alpha Bane ordered. And then he was gone. I couldn’t open my eyes. I didn’t want to. It hurt too much. Every inch of my body screamed in agony. Death was an alluring promise of peace, a sweet dream. Why was I the holding on? It made no sense. Why was I trying to survive in a world that clearly didn’t want me...when the sum-total of my existence was pain?

They hurried toward the windows and shut them one after another, blocking out every trace of sunlight before quickly scrambling out of the room. They knew better than to leave the windows open around me. I was a beast condemned to live in darkness. A curse placed upon me by a powerful witch had taken away my ability to withstand sunlight. It was not merely an inconvenience. It had stripped me of the freedom to rule my own kingdom as I once had. A hundred years ago, my own Beta, Scott, betrayed me. He divided my kingdom into two factions and took half of it for himself. But betrayal was only the beginning of what he did to me, he killed my mate.

But he doesn’t know me. He doesn’t know that every ounce of pain I’ve endured in my life has turned me into something sharp, something that bites back. He doesn’t know that I don’t just break, I shatter , and I take down whoever’s closest when I do. I feel the nausea curling tighter in my chest, but underneath it, something else bubbles: anger.
