You, of all people, know that it’s an arrangement.” A contract with an expiry date. We both agreed that we were going to call things off the moment our parents stopped bothering us to get married or take over their companies. It could be a month from now or a year, but the important thing was that it had a timeline.

I needed to see it for myself before I jumped to conclusions, not that it mattered much now. It didn’t take me long to find the contract. It was sealed in a large yellow envelope. I unwrapped the string and slid the papers out, scattering them across the desk. My breath hitched painfully when I saw it. There it was. Written clearly on the fourth page of the contract, slipped in amongst the other clauses. “Upon being marked by Alpha Dominic, I understand that my symptoms will improve only for each day we stand together. Any breach of contract will result in immediate regression of symptoms. I understand that only Alpha Dominic may decide when the contract will officially terminate.”

Furthermore, if one of us used the other’s money, it had to be repaid in full. Also, even in the event of death, I was not a beneficiary of Mark’s assets. This contract was drawn up five years ago when my mom fell ill. Mark was afraid I would use our money to help her.

And with her reserved dignity, Raven returned her outstretched hands to her laps and she fiddled with her fingers. “Like I said earlier I am the soon to be CEO of this corporation that you are in right now which can only be achieved with your cooperation. Read through carefully and let me know what you think of it.” The moment he heeded the advice of his best friend, Christopher had drafted out a simple and easy contract marriage terms and conditions which he found online after googling for a whole day and it d

I picked up my phone and was about to dial her number when I noticed Dominic walking towards me. He still looked cold and angry like he looked when he stormed out of the sitting room and when he got to me and he stretched out two papers to me. They were contract papers, like agreement papers, the one that binds people together in terms and conditions. "We should sign a contract," he said as I started to read through the agreement, "since we don't have an emotional basis."
