The Billionaire's Ex Got Someone Better Novels & Stories

The woman he told me not to worry about was now the reason our marriage was being torn apart. But who was I to judge him? Natalia, the stunning Italian model, was his ex-fiancée. She chose her career over marriage and left him to fulfill her dreams in Paris. If she hadn't left, Grey would never have married me. Even after four years, I knew he still hadn’t forgotten her completely. Perhaps he was still in love with her. After all, I was just a temporary replacement, a tool to spite his father, who had married his mistress after his mother left. Until now, his father hadn't forgiven him for marrying someone like me—a lowly waitress.

I told myself it was fine to take a day off to pamper myself after all I was technically on leave. That evening, just when Lark and Nylah had left the house with Meredith to go stroll before dinner, I received a notification that had me swooning. “Billionaire Ivan Dmitri, CEO of Zytech was found this afternoon, shot dead in his hospital room.” The phone fell off my loose fingers. My head was throbbing suddenly and the note I'd received with the roses took on a sinister flavor.

Lane International Office – 6:15 PM Sally slammed the tabloid on my desk with enough force to send my coffee sloshing over the rim of the mug, dark liquid seeping into quarterly projections that suddenly seemed insignificant. The headline screamed in lurid yellow against a black background: "RECONCILED? Disgraced Billionaire Coleman Shares Tender Moment With Ex-Wife & Secret Love Child"

Zara squealed when she opened her bag and took out the most expensive Barganza pearl and diamond necklace. While Poppy and Harper pulled out their Chanel handbags and thanked Sonia for their gifts. I looked at them and forced a smile on my face. "Oh, Sonia, this is beautiful!" They all thanked her, glorifying her as if they didn't have the same amount of money to buy the gifts themselves if they wanted. "It's my pleasure, Zara. I apologize that I came without any present for your guest. What's her name?" Sonia asked as she looked at me. "Oh, that's Abigail. She's Elijah's ex-girlfriend." Harper answered just as I was about to open my mouth and answer for myself.

"Oh! It's nice of you. I will make it to the restaurant before you, trust me. I wouldn't want to keep you waiting, you know you mean the world to me," Adrain, Natalia's boyfriend, said over the phone. "I love you, Adrain. I just can't wait to get this divorce signed, so we can finally be together once again,” Natalia concluded as she ended the call, making her way to the sitting room. Seated in the lavish sitting room was Caleb Kensington, the youngest billionaire in all of Italy. He possessed a dangerous aura that repelled people, yet simultaneously drew them in with his captivating and handsome appearance.

Before he could tell her to leave, she said, "Did you ask me that day what I was doing in this office?" Her question made him frown. "I did not want to leave my previous job. Do you know why I left there?" She turned to look at his confused expression and said, "The news about my divorce spread, and I became a joke overnight. I was so overwhelmed by the thought of starting a family with you that I did not realize how people were talking behind my back. They thought you were too good for me and I did not deserve a man like you. I still would have stayed strong, but then their teasing turned fierce as some men said I was not good in bed, some women said I can not even keep my husband happy

He seemed to be really rigid. "So, you and Adrian are just friends huh?" Mrs Gonzalez turned around to face me. "No Mother, they are more than just friends, and the cunning lady newly divorced her husband, and fled New York City with Adrian while carrying a child for her ex-husband," a sudden strikingly familiar voice filtered into the dining room. The clicking sound of her heels further deafening my ears.

He just stood there, staring at me across the crowded ballroom with an expression of complete devastation. The girl he'd thrown away, the wife he'd neglected and humiliated, the woman he'd told would never find anyone better, was Isabella Morrison. Granddaughter of Alexander Morrison. Heir to one of the largest fortunes in the country. One of the most powerful women in New York. And he'd let me go without a fight. The applause finally died down and I sat back down, accepting congratulations from the people at my table with grace and poise I'd learned from watching my brothers navigate society. But I was hyperaware of the Wei family table, of the chaos I knew was happening there.

That morning, sunlight slipped through the gaps of the thick curtains in the Langford residence. Sarah stood in front of the large oak door, her hand hovering hesitantly over the brass knocker. It had been six years since she last set foot here. Six years since her family threw her out for marrying Ronan Vexler, a “common man” in their eyes, even though he was a billionaire. For the Langford family, noble blood was everything, and money without a title was nothing but cheap arrogance.

"The billionaire? What's he doing here?" "Charity event in the west wing. Though after that scandal with his ex-fiancée, I'm surprised he shows his face anywhere." "I heard he's looking for a new girlfriend. Someone to clean up his image." "A fake girlfriend, you mean. Like those Hollywood contracts." My feet stopped moving. Brett Graham. Everyone knew that name. The tech mogul who'd built an empire from nothing, worth billions, cold as ice and twice as ruthless. "How much do you think someone would pay for that kind of arrangement?" the first nurse asked.
