POV: Dalia Wellessley. The air was damp in the stone-walled chamber beneath the manor, thick with mildew and the faint stench of blood. A single lightbulb swung from the ceiling, casting erratic shadows that twitched like ghosts on the walls. Dalia hung by her wrists from iron chains bolted into the ceiling, her arms numb, lips cracked, blood crusted beneath her nose. But it was not the pain that undid her—it was the sound of Aiden’s voice.

I pulled him into my arms, holding him near to me, hiding my face in the curve of his neck as I tried to slow down my heart, which was beating fast. He is safe. He is here. But the dream. No. The nightmare. Even till now, I could still smell the burning wood and feel the pack house shaking under my feet. I watched Raphael freeze at Lance's words. "A black Dahlia?" Logan nodded. "Yes," he replied, his face contorted into an expression of anguish. "That can't be," Someone else at the table mumbled, his voice hushed as though he was afraid of the implications of what the information meant.

"How is it possible for Drexton to recognise her? The disguise, the masking of her scent, everything." Dr Felix was about to reply when they heard a scream. "She's awake," Nikita muttered, and they all ran upstairs. Inside, Hazel was staring into space, her eyes still carried the same horror, and her fingers trembled over the gripped duvet. "Hazel," Nikita called and sat beside her. "Calm down. Everything is fine." Hazel didn't reply, still shaken by the whole event. She's never been the type to believe in ghosts.
