Jack was Matthew's friend, so he would definitely like Matthew, both rich and talented. Maybe he opened this bookstore just for fun. Everyone knew that this street was one of the most expensive streets in the country. No matter how well the sales of the bookstore was, it could hardly make up for the Ground-Hired cost.

I gave it to him and we went inside. I expected a musty shop with a bunch of old books on the shelves with a grandmotherly or grandfatherly person behind the counter, or at the very least, very bookish looking. The shop wasn’t musty, but old books of all kinds filled the shelves. However, the person behind the counter looked like he was the poster child for the ideal goth guy.
