The Way You Taste
Willow asks, raising a playful eyebrow at me, her seriousness all but gone.
“There’s a water nymph living in there,” I chuckle. “She grants wishes every now and then.”
“We better make it a good wish, then,” she says.
I dig into my pockets and hand Willow a quarter. She closes her eyes for a moment, her lips moving ever so slightly. Then, with a graceful motion, she tosses it.
“I think it’s already coming true,” she says softly as she turns to face me.
Her words stir something within me. Unspoken desires, dreams, and yes, wishes.
