Chapter 04

Austin wants to help their Aikee so he's telling Chassy in advance. He hopes that she'll really listen.

"Here goes. We live in a star, we're called luminescence and I'm a luminescent. Each star has an Aikee, that means a leader. It happened to be that our Aikee is the kid you saw. I don't know why our new Aikee is a kid"

"Uhm... new Aikee? What happened to the prior Aikees?" Chassy asked.

"Each star has only five chances and you are our last. The previous Aikee fell inlove in our fourth try. He defied the rules of our star and he was on the run until he couldn't anymore. Our third Aikee went wicked when he saw that humans aren't worth it, we couldn't finish our mission, we failed. We couldn't go home"

"Wait, where is home? Ain't your star a home? And why do you guys have this mission? Like duhh! Humans are happy even without magic," Chassy said giving Austin the I don't get it gesture.

Austin rolled his eyes. "Were you happy before our Aikee gave you our dust?" That made Chassy shut her mouth. "To answer your first question, I honestly don't know where home is. The star is only a place we stay while we complete our mission. If we ever complete this then a new Aikee together with the luminescence will come," Austin continued.

"You mean if you don't succeed you will still remain in that star. Only five chances and uhm... you said this is the last so you guys will die?" Chassy asked covering her mouth in shock on what she just realized. These aliens will die if she doesn't help. "If I help you guys---not that I can help by forcing myself to be happy. I mean I won't be creeped out. I don't like you guys but I don't want you all to die too!"

"You gotta be careful to the ones who approaches you," Austin warned.

"Why? Are there any skeleton or vampires that would come after me?" Asked Chassy.

"No but there are tricksters that would make you happy. Remember, I'm the only one who said I'm a luminescent. Not everyone tells you they are too and not all who would make you happy is a luminescent. Some are mists"

"Oh my God! This is so complicated and I honestly am not catching up with what you're saying," she whined. "What can a mist do to me?"

"Past four mists that we encountered are all the bad guy type. I'm pretty sure they go change attitudes every time just to get closer to you. They won't hurt you, they'll trick you and hurt you. Not physically but by here," then Austin points at his chest.

"He'll take your chest?" She asked slightly frowning. Austin face palmed in frustration.

"Look, just remember that don't be tricked by some bad guy. We need you to be happy and we need to be saved. And remember don't fall in love with any of us. That's for your own good so when we leave or you'll get tricked it won't hurt so much," Austin said trying to convince the stupid girl.

"Everything that falls break so I'm not falling but I will love but don't worry, it's impossible for me to love," Chassy replied. She laughed sarcastically then mumbled, "love, that absurd thing."

Austin was done explaining and he almost forgot one more thing. "You have fifty three happiness left. My only job is to give you information," he said.

"Wait, why don't you just tell me who the mist is?" Chassy asked. She thought it'd be easier not to fall for a trickster if she knows the name.

"I can't because I don't know who. It could be Jaxzim, Sky, me or whoever. It might be Aikee too," Austin replied.

"Seriously? Why don't you guys know? You're the information giver so why don't you know?"

Austin stood up, he was ready to leave. "Because anytime, a luminescent can turn himself or herself as a mist but never can a mist turn back into a luminescent," he answered and vanished. He didn't mean to disappear again but Chassy got to his nerves.

Chassy is getting used to all this weird things that was happening to her. She slowly understands all that is happening now. "Okay, I won't freak out anymore. You're not going to faint," Chassy told herself as she was breathing heavily.

"So, he explained everything to you now," a voice from behind said. When she turned around she saw Frost.

"Are you a mist?" She asked him directly. She needs to be careful with everyone she recently met.

Frost chuckled. "Do you honestly think that if I were a mist I'd tell you I was? That's quite cheeky of you," he said tossing his hair to the side.

Chassy thought about what Austin said. A mist is iniquity towards his or her victim but he also said it depends. "So confiusing," she muttered.

"Indeed it is. So, what do you say we go celebrate your new job?" Frost asked showing an evil smirk.

Chassy really thinks that this Frost is a mist. From the way he is to the way he would sneak in her room. She's not to doubt him, he is the mist.Chassy raised a brow at Frost. "You can't trick me. If I were you I'd just disappear," she said, taking her stuffs and walked away from Frost. But he followed her.

Chassy knew Frost was following her. She remembered what Corbyn told her so she went to the book store.

Corbyn saw Chassy and smiled. Only she wasn't alone, this guy was following her which made him frowned.

 "Hey Chassy, I see you came with a friend," Corbyn said the minute Chassy was near him.

"He's not my friend nor a boyfriend. He's just uhm... just a person too," she answered. "Uhm... I'm just gonna look for books," she said and left.

When Chassy left, Corbyn approached Frost.

 "Who are you?" Corbyn asked.

"Who do you think I am?" Frost asked, smirking at Corbyn.

"You can't, she's not even half way there!" Corbyn tells Frost. But Frost doesn't seem to mind how Corbyn is telling him off.

"Excuse me, I got some girl to save," Frost said and winked at him. Corbyn wants to punch Frost. If Corbyn doesn't do anything, he'll lose to him.

Corbyn pulled Frost back to punch him but someone came in that made him stop halfway. It was the careless Jaxzim whom looked at them.

"Okay... sorry to bother you guys," Jax apologized and went straight to Chassy.

"Hey lady, watcha reading?" Jax asked Chassy as soon as he reached her. Chassy was surprised.

"Oh hey there Jaxzim the luminescent!" she greeted sassily shaking her head. She raised her brow at him then Jax chuckled.

"Hmm... so you know now. I see," Jax replied nodding his head. "Austin told you, huh? I hope he didn't tell you about me"

"What's there to know about you?" Chassy said with that I don't plan to know tone.

"Something that's more interesting than your lonely life," replied Jax. It made Chassy glare at him.

"F.Y.I. my life is doing better now than that lonely life you're saying," after saying that she walk pass by him. Bringing with her the book she wants to borrow from Corbyn.

Out from the shelves she saw Frost waiting for her. Then saw Corbyn glaring at Frost. She felt like something's not right with the two of them.

"Chassy, don't move!" Jax yelled from behind. That made her stop in front of the shelves, the counter and from Frost was sitting.

Chassy turned to face Jax with a confused look. "What the hell?" Chassy yelled.

"Who are you two?" Jaxzim asked, completely ignoring Chassy's question.

Frost just smirked devilishly.

"I see you're a luminescent. Well, hello brother," Corbyn said.

Jax don't see these men at their star but he really doesn't see anyone there. Only Austin and their Aikee. Mostly when they don't have a mission, they don't come home or never goes out their room so it's really confusing.

Jax looked at Frost who can't say anything.

 "It looks like I got you, now"

Frost just chuckled. "Don't worry, I won't harm her" then Frost faced Chassy "I'll see ya later," he said and winked, saluting at her before he vanished.

"Does that mean he's gonna come after me?" Chassy asked then she turned to Corbyn. "So you're one of them and you didn't tell me?"

"Look, I didn't want to freak you out. You got to understand the situation Chassy," Corbyn replied.

"He's not going to hurt you and you better go home," Jax said.

"I'll take her home. We'll see you around Jax," Corbyn was going to take Chassy's hand but Jax took it first.

"No, I'll take her home," Jax said and drag Chassy out. She couldn't even tell Jax to let her go.
