I read the title as if it was in an ancient language. "Amihan," I whisper in the ancient tongue, pronouncing the word. It wasn't hard. Nay taught me a few letters of the ancient language, so reading the title of this book came in handy. Now here comes the fun part. I open the book to the first page and read the passage.

I sharply interrupted her, telling her with my eyes to drop it because we weren’t alone. We both turned to look at David then, who pretended to be clueless for a few seconds before sighing and giving in. “I’ll just take this outside to read.” He waved the book in his hand and got up. “Call me when you’re done.” When he was out of the room, I turned back to Ash.

Then he walked up to the gate and got into the house. The surroundings were very quiet, and the buildings seemed peaceful but void of a single living thing. David slowly started walking to Nora and Catherine's flat, silently praying for one of them to be around. He knocked on the iron door for several minutes but didn't get a response. “F*ck!“ David yelled. “What the hell am I going to do now?“ He slumped to the ground, his eyes twitching in pain and confusion. Suddenly, he heard a voice.

I watch him smile at some pages or gasp at something in the book. I’ve taken note of the books he likes. He especially likes the limited edition novel by Blue Bird titled ‘Rock Hard’. It’s a BL novel, David could only get his hands on because he adores the author, and Sal pulled some strings to get him a book that hasn’t even been released to the public eye yet. On some nights, David would sit crouched under the night lamp, sketching away. On some nights, he’d sleep off holding on to my hand but wake up and rush out of the room before I ‘woke up and caught him’.

He took hold of Malek and caressed her cheek. “Game is on, Mr. Burak. Hence he turned to Eli. “Wait, I think I have an extra copy of the book you are talking about. I bought extra because I felt some victims might need them to heal a part of themselves. Since you like it so much, go in my car and bring it.” David took out his car from his back pocket.

He slid the binder back into its place on the shelf, the sound of it sliding into place unnervingly loud in the quiet room. Then David leaned in, close enough that I could feel the warmth of his breath against my ear. “This isn’t your world, Chloe,” he murmured. “No matter how pretty the dresses Jake buys you. No matter how perfect you pretend to fit in. You don’t belong here. And you never will.” My throat went dry. The words dug deep, sharper than any blade. David stepped back, his expression unreadable now. He gave a faint, cold smile, almost polite. “Enjoy the library,” he said.

Kate had an embarrassed look on her face, everyone around her could feel the surrounding tension, she didn’t know how to deal with him, her eyes fall on Noah and Nina, Nina was a calm and peaceful girl, unlike Rose and her, thinking what David said and how angry he was when he mentioned that man, she understood Noah’s father was not ordinary. She could tell David didn’t want that man in his sister’s life, but why?
