The Ceo Second Choice Novels & Stories

"I know, right? I envied Calvin when he landed the job at Zenith Group, but I never would have guessed that Thomas would end up with the CEO of the company! I mean, no matter how smart Calvin is, he's still just an employee under Thomas' thumb!" It was then that someone yelled, "Calvin has arrived!" In that instant, everyone in the private room turned their attention to me. Their looks held pity, regret, and a definite streak of schadenfreude. Thomas and I had once been the top two talents of Eastlake University's Finance Department. Now, Thomas was poised to become the husband of the CEO of Zenith Group, while I merely became a new hire on their payroll. It was then that one of my close for

Maybe I just got lucky, but in only two years, I was already sitting in the CEO's chair at a major company. I thought it was all because of my ability. I believed I had built everything from nothing and lifted Vivian into a better life along with me. So I proposed. I wanted to spend the rest of my life loving her. In our second year of marriage, she suddenly said she wanted me to meet her parents.

I was supposed to make a speech about my vision for the company, then officially accept my new role as CEO. But there was one more crucial element. One that I had completely forgotten about in all my grief and distraction. The appointment of a Deputy CEO, my second-in-command, the person who would help run the company alongside me and serve as my backup if I were ever unable to perform my duties. In my original timeline, I had given it to Dennis without a second thought. He was family. He has been working in the company for years. He had seemed like the obvious choice. I had announced it right there, in front of everyone, cementing his position as my right hand.

The name slipped out. His gaze snapped to me, sharp. "He’s the obvious choice. Interim CEO. Stands to inherit a significant stake if I’m declared dead." He ran a hand through his hair, messing up the CEO perfection. "But obvious isn’t always right. Sophie’s family has ties to our main competitor. The Board has factions who preferred my father’s… less aggressive strategies." He stopped pacing, pinning me with that storm-grey stare. "It could be anyone in this building, Samantha. Anyone."

Around him, board members and key executives exchanged measured glances, some leaning forward in quiet conversation, others sitting rigidly, their expressions unreadable. Micheal sat beside me, his fingers drumming on the table with no doubt apprehension. He was as eager for this to begin as I am. Sitting across from me was the second candidate nominated for the CEO position. Lean and immaculate, his calculating eyes stared at me. Hostility smothered by the present company, he watched me carefully. Kelvin was my cousin, of course. He was the best for the position according to my uncles and his allies. Which we all knew was wrong. The position initially belonged to my father and my uncle was

“Jameson, I’ve been thinking. It’s time to start transitioning the company to the next generation. I need to appoint a CEO—a perfect candidate who can handle the legacy.” Jameson adjusted his glasses, his expression neutral. “You’ve built an empire, sir. This is a decision that will shape the future. May I ask who you have in mind?” Edward sighed, his voice tinged with frustration. “That’s the problem. My options aren’t exactly ideal. Henry is ambitious, but he’s reckless. Raymond has the charm but lacks the grit. And Lorenzo… well, he’s been distant lately, but he has the heart and experience.” Jameson nodded thoughtfully, carefully choosing his words. “It’s a delicate choice. Each of them

"So how was the interview? Do we finally have an assistant for our COO?" I smiled and grabbed a file. "Yep. I shortlisted three of them. I'm going to call them for a final interview in a little while." He took the file and skimmed through the pages. He twitched his lips and commented, "They look promising." I arched an eyebrow and asked, "No other comments?" "They will do good as an assistant. In fact, this guy right here," he showed one of the candidates on the file, "was my second choice for my own assistant. If Rowan ever quits, I'm going to hire him."

"What now?" "I said, SIT DOWN!" My voice reverberated in the office, surprising Cleo and even more so, Lei. They have never seen me mad or heard me raise my voice before. Good thing this office is soundproofed; otherwise, I would surely be the talk of the office. "I've had enough of you being rude to me. Ever since I took over this company, you have shown nothing but rudeness, giving me death glares when you see me in the hallway, gossiping behind my back that I don't deserve to be the CEO and President of this company. Let me remind you, Miss Kimberly Cueto, that I am the only heir to Core Productions and all its affiliates. This is my parents' legacy, and if you have a problem with that, y

the secretary said, then went into the office. “Before Steven and Derren left, they said the CEO would be someone with political power, someone who would support the distribution of the drug so no one else could object. So, it's either Governor Gerald or Queen Elizabeth. Given that this building is in Willowcrest and is the only branch this company currently has, it's most likely Governor Gerald,” Gregory thought to himself as he stared at the glass door. The secretary came back outside and said with a bright smile, “The CEO will see you now.” She then bowed to Gregory and walked away.

He was loving the look on Kelvin's face and would do anything to make him get on his father's bad side. "It's high time you understood that you cannot be the CEO of this company Kelvin, not while I am alive. I have toiled and given my everything to ensure this company is where it is today. As the second in command, it is only normal that I take charge after Mr. Murray's retirement." He paused and dust of imaginary dirt on his gray suit. "You see," he continued, "I have the experience, I have the age, I have the connection, I have everything to take over this company, and I won't watch you destroy my plans."
