With a hard jerk, I tore my wrists out of Adrian’s grip, turned around, and sprinted down the grand staircase, my grey hoodie flying behind me. "Elara! Wait!" Adrian shouted, his heavy boots hitting the marble behind me, but I didn't stop. I burst through the heavy front doors, lunging out into the freezing midnight mist, and ran past the gates before anyone could stop me. I didn't leave a trace, I didn't take a phone, and I didn't have a weapon. I was just a mother running on raw survival instinct, my feet carrying me blindly through the dark, wet streets of the city. Everywhere was dark, no lights, no cars, other than the one she's in. When the car finally slowed, it descended into an underground garage lit only by faint blue strips along the floor. The door opened, and a woman in a crisp black suit waited outside. She's tall, expressionless, holding a silver tray with a glass of champagne. "Drink," the woman said, stretching it to her. Elena squinted her eyes at her, surprised by her action. She wanted to reject, to give an excuse perhaps. But recalling why she's there, she slowly took the glass, and sipped a little, then set it down untouched.

His voice very detached. “Alright love.” There is a slight glitch in Ellie’s voice, a hesitation that send a satisfying thrill down my core. You may not be the apple of his eyes after all. Leaving us there, Chase strides out of the hall without a backward glance. Immediately Chase disappears through the door, Ellie shrieks and slam her hand onto the table next to us, “ I don’t like girls like you. I don’t like rankless girls who try to walk their way up by throwing their dirty and shapeless body on a man. Stay in your limit or else..?”

I just kept praying that she would turn around, and tell me this was all a prank. The moment she opened the door, I called her name. She spun around, kind of hesitated before looking at me. I swallowed the morsel in my throat, and kept my hands into my pocket. "I affirm that this journey has ended, so yes, the Chase is over." She nodded, and said nothing. She just turned around, and left.
