I did my best to take care not to scratch the leather, but when it fell into my arms, I noticed what looked like a fresh dig. Books were not as common in that era as they were in the future so I felt bad about causing damage to it. My lamenting lasted only briefly. "How's the meeting?" Zech asked me with a smile as he entered my workshop room. I dropped what I read, one of the books of Leonard Goldberg’s Daughter of Sherlock Holmes, I turned my back on him. "Good! They believe the lie I told. And I'm part of them," I replied, then returned my eyes to the pages of the book I am reading. "That's good; they're impressed by what you said, regarding all is fair in love and war," he slowly said the last line.

“Esmerelda, what a beautiful name for a beautiful woman.” I don’t know who was more shocked by the words that poured forth from that handsome mouth with eye catching straight and -dentist whitened- teeth. From the look of shock on Melanie and Nora’s face, it was clear that they hadn’t expected such a comment any more than I had. “Esmerelda Sleuth is her full name,” Melanie giggled, with emphasis on my last name of Sleuth. “Here’s the best of it. She’s an investigator! Get it? Esmerelda Sleuth is a sleuth!”

He chuckled as he stopped in front of me. Without giving me a response, he raised a book in my face. "A gift for you," he mumbled. I leaned my head backward, my eyes narrowed. I had questions, but I couldn't ask them when I saw the title and the author's name on the book. "What the... How did you....," I grabbed the book from him. This was Timothy Sherlock's new book. Aside from being an actor, he was also a great author. He had briefed everyone about his new book, but he never told us when it would be available for purchase.

Evelina pulled a book out of her bag that she borrowed earlier in the school library. BAM!!! The thumping sound of the book she put on her desk, sounded very loud because the book was quite heavy and thick. Evelina checks the book and she realizes that she borrowed so much. She didn’t expect that the books borrowed by her were enough. So, no wonder Rissa commented on this morning. “Let’s see what books I just borrowed ...,” murmured while sorting out the book. “There’s a Sherlock Holmes novel, Her Last Word, A Time Return, ... and finally you’re my butterfly?”

he sat on the bed, winking at me. I smiled and scooted closer to him. "You are the best PI I know." He chuckled. "I am the only PI, you know." "Nah, Sherlock Holmes, Rick Castle, Hercule Poirot, Philip Marlowe, Nancy Drew." I listed off, my love for books and series overflowing with every word. Dad ruffled my hair, "No comparing to fictional characters, you know that." I grinned. "I know."

I beamed. "Crazy, isn't it?" "Fucking crazy, for real." "First, we put THE DA VINCI CODE by DAN BROWN here." He picked out the book and inserted it in the center line of the shelf. He put HOW TO STOP TIME by MATT HAIG, followed by EVERGREEN by NAOMI HIRAHARA. "Then KISS THE GIRLS by JAMES PATTERSON." He put it next to the first book. "I've read that." I went on in a spur of excitement. "It's a thriller and mystery novel about a detective who's trying to track down a serial killer. So many twists and cliffhangers. Total page-turner." I giggled.

My eyes widened even more when I saw the mansion’s design. “Wow,” I said, looking around. I could tell just how wealthy the Montemayors were. I quickly ran to the large bookshelf full of books. I’ve always loved books, especially the Sherlock Holmes novels by Arthur Conan Doyle, but since I couldn’t afford them, I’d just search for them online when I had data.

Episode 13 Chloe pov continues… I was sweating while arranging the dusted books in the container given to us when I come across a book, I dusted the title off, it seems like a diary or some journal, and that reminds me it's been long I have opened up my journal, I opened it and the first page I read is "Rachel Gerard, do not open unless you are Rachel Gerard" I smiled and put it back not after doing a speed glance at the write up in it, I'm so inquisitive? Yeah!.

The rest of the day seems boring so, I decided to read a book. "Let's see what I got here? I started looking for a storybook that will get my attention. Nope. Not this one. Yes finally found you " Sherlock Holmes. My favorite detective of all time. This book always inspired me to write a mystery novel. I tried many times, but nothing came to my mind. So I decided to give a break and concentrate on other things. I was a very very big fan of mystery and detective novels than romance and action. "If I started reading now, then I can finish this entire book by evening. The stories looked really interesting." I thought while flipping the pages.
