He didn’t glance back when I stepped out. “What is it?” I asked, heartbeat already doing double time. He lifted a single finger and pointed outward. “Look.” I followed the direction of his hand and my stomach dropped. Down below, Crownshaven had turned into a waking nightmare. Smoke curled into the sky, flames licked the tops of buildings, people screamed and scattered like terrified birds as dozens of corrupted creatures crept along the streets. Twisted limbs, glowing eyes, and black-veined faces moved in a wave like a small army.

I thought I could see someone stand on the bridge, but I wasn't sure. They had gone all out for the special occasion. The streets were incredibly clean, not to even mention the number of flowers they had decorating the shops and even the streetlights. It looked like we had straight-up walked into a magical fantasy land. "Welcome to Avian, girls." Gwen's voice sounded through our speakers. "As you can see, the streets are rather busy. It will take us some time to get to the castle." The streets only seemed to become more and more crowded as we got closer to the castle.

The crowd froze—not because of the crow's position, but because it was unlike any other. Its black eyes fixed on them with an eerie intensity, as though they were nothing more than a group of corpses. At this unsettling thought, a chill ran down the crowd's spines. Even Malric, a genius cultivator from Mount Dracotigris, was forced to step back under the crow's gaze. Everything in the world had a spirit, and this crow—a beast of fortune—was no exception. Malric dared not act recklessly without first understanding its intent. Plus, the crow gave off an oppressing feeling. It was as if it had witnessed countless acts of cruelty and evil.

And this time, it was closer. I opened my eyes and turned my head to the direction where the noise was coming from. As though it was a dream, the crow was perched on the table beside my bed— watching me. “Fuck,” I muttered, “what the fuck?” If there was one thing I knew about crow's, it was that they are bad omens. I'm done with creepy animals sneaking into my room from nowhere. “Shoo,” I said, trying to chase it away with the only weapon I had, which is my mouth. “I understand you're cold. I'm cold too and the difference between us both is that I'm bound but you're not. So go away, I need my sleep.”

She murmured, "Had I known this would be the end, why did I bother to work so hard? Better to have traveled far and wide, to gaze upon vast landscapes like a free bird. In this life, I was wrong about all the things…” Lilith remained silent. Elinor then asked, "Lilith, if you had the choice, would you still come here?" Lilith sighed deeply, offering a bitter smile, " It's a fucked-up world. I wish I would never come." It had been a long time since Elinor had heard such coarse language. Startled, she remembered the time, and suddenly called out, "Archbishop!" The golden palace walls were covered in pure white snow. A crowd gathered outside the palace gate.

"NO ... NO ... NO !!" the sound of a crow. I was surprised to hear the sound, and made the hairs on my neck stand up. “Huh, crow? I should how? I'm afraid!" I said panicked. I remember that crows are friends of vampires, which is why I was afraid. Not only that as a child I was attacked by crows for no reason. That's why I was scared and plus this isn't my world, I'm in my own novel world. The crow in my novel world is a vampire friend, the one who always reports to the vampire leader is a black crow like the crow in front of me right now.

I wondered what the message would be this time. My palms were sweaty, and my heart felt like it was about to leap out of my chest. I impatiently waited for the sensation to pass, and after what felt like forever, it finally stopped. Taking a deep breath, I stepped closer to the book to get a better look at the message. I was shocked to find the page completely clear. I was about to close it when something began to draw itself on the page. Frozen in shock, I didn’t move or speak. My eyes were glued to the page, aching with intensity. As the creature took shape, I wondered what it was until it was fully revealed. That's when I realized—it was a crow.

as soon as I finished my sentence, the crow arrived just like I had predicted. I lifted the spear up into the air and began to yank it at the crow. It shrieked and tried to run away but I stabbed it on one of its wings. The crow didn’t give up. It began to scream and alert everyone close by. Right then I knew I had to finish off this crow immediately before Damon and Grace who sat together close by heard its cries. As it struggled to fly higher, I stabbed it on the leg and it dropped the letter and flew away immediately.
