Soulless Seas
We fight on land because they fear us; they fear what they don’t understand and so ultimately destroy it.
I swim in the middle of them and reach out to touch a female calf; I look in her inky black eye and swim alongside for a while as she is playful. I swim with them for hours, escorting them further out to sea, letting my troubles leave me. If only I could swim away, far away from my troubles.
If only things had been different, I wouldn’t have declared war. There is no going back now, the die has been cast. War favours the brave and ruthless. The sirens are exactly that, fearless, ruthless, brave and we will not rest until we have our revenge.
