I was here, in what’s considered the most dangerous city in the United States. If it weren’t for Kim, there’s no way I’d go through all this trouble, traveling so far just to fetch her damn documents. Damn her scatterbrain for always forgetting important stuff and dragging me into her personal courier service. Pulling my phone out of my bag, I dialed Kim’s number. I prayed she’d pick up quickly so that the incident that I won’t tell wouldn’t happen again like last time.

“We’re close to confirming it.” “And when we do?” I asked. Jillian didn’t answer. He didn’t need to. His eyes told me everything. They would burn the whole city down if it meant getting my father back—and keeping me safe. The next day, tension hung over the mansion like a storm cloud. Everyone was on edge. Even the usually unreadable Joseph Colbert looked uneasy. “Christy,” he called out when I entered the hall. “Yes, sir?” He studied me. “You’ve grown a backbone.”

Henry gently rested his hand on me to reassure me as the tingling sensation kept surging through me. In a split second, Henry reached for a large toy. It was almost as thick as my thigh. As I looked at it, fear crept up my spine. Seeing that he was about to push it in, I quickly pressed my legs together to stop him. But Henry seemed almost possessed. He forcefully pushed my legs apart and tried to shove the toy into my sex. I struggled hard, refusing to give in.

Henry said My eyes widened "You'll not be going to tell the others right?" I asked "I won't but we should as it's going towards a dangerous point," Henry said I got curious as to what he was saying. "How so?" I interrogated I could see his expression drop as he tried to make out words. I gave him time and he finally spoke "He is trying to bail James out"

He looked up, lip trembling slightly. “But Dad is.” I winced. Yeah, Fernando had been harsh. He was still fuming in the front seat, his jaw clenched like it was wired shut. Ashley’s brows furrowed as she kept glancing his way. “He’s just worried,” I told Henry gently. “We all are. But you need to understand—talking to strangers, especially when we don’t know if we’re being followed or watched, it’s dangerous.” Henry nodded slowly. “He was nice and he asked me normal questions.”

He was flexing his muscles as if to show that he wasn't afraid of detective Walsh, and I touched him, making him know how serious the situation was. “So what are you suggesting, boss? Complete eradication? Extermination?” I nodded, running a hand through my hair. I lit the joint again, restoring the flame. I took in the smoke, then billowed some into the air. “Anyhow you need to do it, Henry. We need to clip his wings before he gets too close. He's a dangerous one, and the earlier we push him away, the better.” Henry nodded, smoking his joint with a certain coolness that I found amazing.

Hearing what happened, Henry agreed to come to Bloom City to find out more about who the woman was that had ordered to kill me. Before we ended the call, Henry said, “I want you to keep a distance from Calvin Dubois. I don’t like him. He is dangerous” But, I did like Calvin. And that was the problem.

he asked again and now Elena had to repeat herself, explaining in detail how she got the job offer. “No way, no way…” Henry shook his head in disbelief. “Elena, do you know what kind of place you work in? It’s a very dangerous place. Not to mention, you work with the most dangerous man. You need to get out of there immediately.” Elena listened to it and could only listen with mixed feelings.

It would tear through our ranks, through our fragile alliances, devouring hope and turning everything we’d built into ash. “She’s strong,” Henry finally said, his voice rough with a mix of awe and fear. “But that strength—it’s like a blade with no sheath. She’s reckless, dangerous even, when it comes to protecting the people she loves. She’ll burn down everything around her if it means keeping them safe. Whatever she’s doing now… she’s convinced it’s the only way. And that kind of belief?” He glanced at me, eyes haunted. “That’s the most dangerous thing of all.”

“It’s more than that, Carina. Henry… he’s not just holding a grudge. He’s obsessed. And he’s dangerous.” I stopped pacing and turned to face them. “Dangerous how? You’re making it sound like he’s some kind of… villain out of a movie.” Miguel’s lips twisted into a grim smile. “He might as well be. Henry has powerful friends, Carina. Friends who can make people disappear, who can track someone down no matter where they run.” A cold chill ran down my spine. “Are you saying he… he followed me here? That he knows where I am?”
