The Death Cure Newt Death Page Novels & Stories

He'd eventually found an opportunity to kill me. After my death, I'd lingered as a ghost, unable to move on. I had followed Jack and Kate, watching them live their twisted, off-and-on lives. In the end, they were happy together. It wasn't until Kate botched another surgery and an enraged patient stabbed her in the heart that I saw darkness again. And when I opened my eyes, I was back here, the day before that ill-fated surgery. … Staring at the sterile white ceiling, I could still feel the ache in my abdomen from the pre-op injections.

Tomorrow is the late Sir Frederick Gunther’s death anniversary, so that will be the perfect time for them to confront me about the test results. "Mrs. Gunther, the test results are ready. I am sorry to have kept you waiting; I needed to see a patient whose mother was panicking," Mr. Sloan explained as he closed the door behind him; he rushed to his seat. Mr. Sloan is the family’s gynecologist and deals with the childbirth of every Gunther. He is around his late sixties or seventies yet still looks strong and agile. When I came to tell him the result, Mr. Sloan looked at me with so much intent; there I could also see that he pitied me.

Eventually, I moved on to a new home, a new job, and a new life. One day, I received a call from the police. The officer said, "Ms. Sawyer, good evening. We found a man who froze to death overnight at a cemetery. "He was heavily intoxicated. We traced his records and found that you were listed as his emergency contact." I exhaled slowly. "I used to be, but not anymore. Please proceed with your standard protocols." "Understood. Sorry to disturb you." After hanging up, I looked toward the sky and whispered a quiet prayer. I asked the universe to send kindness to those who truly needed it.

He propped her body up on the altar, studying the wounds that riddled her body. “She's decapitated, Samael. How could you even think of saving her?” He bellowed with laughter. “Necromancy, of course. I'm Death. You think I couldn't revive her?” Samael placed her head atop her neck. “This is nothing.” I gaped. “You're crazy as an elephant down a mine shaft.”

John kept the act up and prayed that he would find the location of the vial before he was tasked to kill a noble. At the other side of the Keep, William silently entered the door and found himself in another alchemic room filled with instruments boiling what he thought were magical potions. Over at a counter, there's a journal scribbled with notes detailing the countless experiment they made over the years. One part he read was a report about how Death Shade's experiment successfully claimed its first victim. The potency was strong enough to kill a man within hours, but they needed to tune it to kill a man within weeks after repeated dosage.

For a moment, both men stared in rapt fascination at the oily swirling miasma of Death that moved within it. Then Alex jerked free of Caitlyn’s grip on his shirt, backing away to the opposite side of the room. “This little miracle of yours,” he sloshed the bag of her corrupted cure at her, “is worth a pretty penny, Caitie. This little bag right here is worth a whopping ten million Euros per milliliter. The most expensive pharmaceutical agent of bioterrorism on the planet,” he crooned to the bag of liquid. “Yes, it sure is.”

I met the healer in his chambers; he was giving him his first dose. "Calm down." The healer knew he was going to react, and if he wasn't careful, he could knock him out with ease. I had to go in and help him; I held Nathan's right hand while the healer held his left hand. Watching Nathan convulse was very hard; I couldn't take it anymore. He was vomiting the potion that had been given to him. The wolfsbane had eaten deep, and in no time, Alpha Nathan could lose his life. I have to wait for Erica, and I hope she brings the cure with her.

"His mistress finally managed to get pregnant some time back. But, when she pleaded with him to spare her, he cut her belly open. Not just her baby, but even her intestines fell out, and she ended up dying on the spot! "When she was dragged out of the dungeon, all she had left was skin and bones. She even carried a foul stench. Just hearing about it made me gag. Then, the female werewolves from the Frosthowl pack disposed of her body in Lake Frostice. "Also, about the Alpha—the werewolves in the Frosthowl pack felt that he was so out of his mind that they deemed him unable to continue holding the position of Alpha. So, they overthrew him.

The thing spasmed, then lay still. “You killed it,” Patsy said, rising. “Looks like,” Dewey said. On the other side of the lock, Newt Whipple wasn’t faring well. Obese from the bloat of corruption, the female floater had him on the ground, bared teeth snapping at him, dripping hair nearly obscuring the youngster’s face. Pressing his staff under its throat, Newt struggled to fend off his attacker. But even as Patsy looked for a way to get across the lock, Roger rushed onto the dock carrying a bucket which he used to slam the deader off Newt and then pounded the thing’s head with the bucket till its skull was a mass of bone and brain and its limbs stopped thrashing and it lay as still as its p
