I have been really stressed. My coffee was already on the table and it was already cold. I could not drink it any longer. Suddenly, the room began to spin around and I got lost. I cocked my head to the side and I blinked my eyes open continuously but I could see nothing. I could only hear the rapid beat of my own heart. Then suddenly, I stumble backward. Tiny flashes of light begin flickering around me, and my vision blurs. The last thing I remember before everything goes black was that I was lifted from the floor..

Nix inquired and his face worried. Despite my pounding head, I smiled at him. "You said it felt like someone had used a camera with a powerful flash. Well, your eyes were closed because you were sleeping. It’s like I was looking right at the camera without realizing what it was when the flash went off. It will take some time for the spots to fade, just like a camera." Nix sighed and leaned against my chest, muttering, "You really need to start sleeping in longer so I wake up before you."

I cry out again. But Dahlia does not respond. Her eyes remain closed and her hands stay pressed against my head. The pressure grows stronger. Then suddenly something inside my mind breaks open. A blinding white flash fills my vision.“AHH—!” Another scream tears through my throat as images burst into my mind. They come fast. Too fast. I cannot control them. I cannot stop them. Flashes of places. Flashes of people. Voices shouting. The sound of metal clashing. Then more white light.

It had been a long time since we’d had a moment like this, just the two of us, without all the drama and tension. But just as his lips touched mine, something strange happened. Flashes. They started out subtle, almost like distant memories, but they quickly became overwhelming. I jerked back, gasping as the images flooded my mind. Trees. Blood. Water. Ocean waves crashing violently. And then… screaming. Piercing, desperate screams echoing in my ears.

My mind had shut down, overwhelmed by the sheer terror of what was happening. Then, through the haze, I saw him, Marcus. My heart leapt in a strange, unfamiliar way. But as I focused, a wave of uncertainty washed over me. Was it really him? Or was my mind simply playing tricks on me? People say that when you are about to die, your life flashes before your eyes, that you are flooded with memories and faces of those you love.

"Say it however it comes. I’m listening." “I’ve been seeing things,” he admitted, looking at her for a second before glancing away. “I know how that sounds. But I swear I’m not losing my mind.” “What kind of things?” she asked softly, her voice full of concern. He shook his head. “It’s hard to explain. Sometimes, I just… blank out. And when it happens, I see these flashes—memories, I guess, but they don’t feel like mine. It’s like watching a younger version of myself, in places I don’t recognize. With people I can’t name.”

A flash bursts through my memories as I double over. “Jane! Don’t fight it. Just let it flow.” I hear Lisa’s voice as another image flashes through my mind. “Tell me what you see.” Her voice pushes through the flashes as it feels as though my mind is being ripped to shreds. “It’s dark and cold.” I say through clenched teeth while the flashes keep coming. “I’m running through the forest. It’s raining and I’m scared.” The flashes finally stop, and I feel completely drained and out of breath.

White walls and floors cause the white light glaring down on me to only burn brighter and I have to shut my eyes to stop the stinging it causes my retina. I peek my eyes open and see the tray of instruments beside me and I know exactly what’s coming. The same shit that happened on my first day here. Why? Why can’t visions come with fucking time stamps?!

"She screams and tosses around, like she's reliving something." The man with blue eyes, added, "It presents like memory flashes, Doctor. She's trying to recall something, but it's causing her distress." Dr. Clark nodded thoughtfully, his eyes filled with compassion. "That's a possibility. Memory flashes can be a symptom of traumatic brain injury. It's like her brain is trying to piece together what happened, but it's causing her physical and emotional pain." I listened intently, trying to make sense of their conversation. Memory flashes? Traumatic brain injury? What did it all mean?

The world around me seems to blur as the pain intensifies. Clutching my head, I blink and shake my head to clear my vision but dark spots begin to dance across my vision. The last thing which flashes before my eyes is a blurred image of someone before everything turns dark.
