I had always loved those eyes, in him, I saw a souvenir of myself.
My eyes travelled down to my exposed neck, covered with bite marks. And distant blue-black bruises that only indicated that poison was taking over my body. Xerxes may not have realised that, but I was dying. I was afraid, but then again my heart was not anxious. Suddenly, death didn’t seem like a threat, but an option. Maybe this was destined, dying at the hands of my mate. A shuddered sigh escaped my lips as I looked down at my quivering hands. Cause I had heard that the sorrow of death was the proof of love, of the bonds that existed beyond our reality, beyond the spacetime, matter and energy that makes our world real.
