EMILY'S POV A few weeks had passed since I began working for Dante. His sight disgusts me but I had to answer his calls, unless I wanted my head separated from my body. Dante made sure I was always with him, serving him or the sexy ladies who appeased him sexually. I would watch them rub his body with their breasts as he rested his back on the couch and sometimes he would go as far as pressing their boobs whilst staring at me. I tried as much as I could to avert my gaze from him, especially when I felt turned on by his sexual gestures. Dante would smirk and watch as I tried controlling myself. Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock. For once in his life, Damon isn’t entirely sure if today was going to be a bad day or not. It starts out simple enough, a few jeering taunts, the smell of spices mingling downstairs from the kitchen, a quiet solitude surrounding his morning as Amelia leaves for the day to meet up with her estranged mother. It’s quiet, peaceful even. Yet for some reason, as his long silver lashes flutter up towards the ceiling, Damon feels inexplicably bored. The dull noises of children playing, constantly breaking his attention away from the shiny new book nestled between his fingers like a delicate treasure.

Who could forget? It had been such a lovely thing. "Do you want me to make you big again?" "I didn’t summon you. Go away.” "I’m bored." "Then go pester the fishes." He puffed out his chest. "I have important business." “What kind of business would a little demon have? Are you hunting an ant?" She laughed, her laughter tinkling through the night air. He rolled his eyes. “Shut up!” “Oh, I know, I know. You’re hunting hobbits." The woman smirked.

I shove the book to the side and grab the one about monsters, frantically tearing through the pages until I find the section on demons. It’s not overly detailed and now I wonder if Caleb knows more. What am I thinking? Of course he does. From what I understand, there are several levels of demons and each one likes to feed off of its chosen preference. For instance, a lust demon thrives on sexual energy and may require two or three daily feedings, depending on its specific characteristics. There is a sloth demon that basically feeds off of laziness until the person becomes so incapacitate it then eventually claims their soul. The worst kind of demon, though, is one that feeds off of pain and

“Caution never hurts. You need to be prepared for shuffling zombies." Dave made a contemptuous throaty sound. "Please. They are just as dangerous or focused as the demon that summons them. Most will give up before the fight gets interesting." I never knew how serious to take Dave. He was a good guy, even with dark red skin, purest black eyes, and occasional bouts of uncontrollable anger. But nobody is perfect. “I swear,” he continued. “Most demons have ADD2. As soon as things start to get better, they leave to start some new shit. That's why they never finish anything."

Frowning, I watch as he stalks onto the sand, reaches down and grabs two handfuls before coming back to stand in front of the table. "Here's an analogy for how much Demon blood you have..." he says. I breathe out loosely. This should be interesting. “Imagine this is a full blooded Demon. Only one such creature exists like that now, who is actually alive, and not cursed unground somewhere." He dumps an entire handful of sand onto the table, a few granules skittering across the surface toward me. I swallow uncomfortably, hating the sound of someone all powerful like that. "Wait-"

“They’re happy. They’re not suffering, and they don’t have any troubles. “They only belong to me. “This is art! It’s perfect art!” He was completely insane. It was completely inhumane. He had turned these young women into his personal toys. I looked at those young women. They were only in their early twenties. Their lives were just starting. However, they were trapped in this dungeon. I recalled what Charlie had said. “The pretty lady fell asleep after the jab, just like sleeping beauty.” It turned out that this was what he was referring to. I felt very sad. I was sad for these young women and this despicable world.
