CLAUDIA AFTER TWO WEEKS I stormed out of my chamber and headed to Alpha Everett’s private chamber after Nellie came to report to me the order he had given to some youths of the Kingdom. Two days after our night together, Alpha Everett was crowned king by the elders, and the consent of the people. Since that time, he had barely had time to stay in the packhouse. He kept going from one meeting to another, and I didn’t care. I had more time to talk to Clarence.

He was ready to burn the entire city to the ground, to wage a war that would drag every syndicate into the abyss, just to find the woman who had stolen his cold, ruthless heart. Suddenly, the encrypted military tablet held by Cain in the front seat let out a violent, high-pitched ping.

The King grabbed her hair, yanking her up. “Open your eyes.” he demanded. Maybe he’d release her if he found her reactions to be boring, she thought. Hope rose in her as she slowly opened her eyes as commanded, but it soon died when she came face to face with his groin. “Put it in your mouth.” he said as he pried Keanna’s lips apart.
