The man whose face I had just beheld in awe is none other than the King of Utrif. My mate is the ruler of a realm where rogues like me are branded as criminals, hunted and despised. Okay, that was a joke but I could finish a rabbit though. “When we get to anywhere you want to eat, let me know, ” the Vampire King said in his usual cold voice, making it seem like I'm a glutton. I get that he doesn't eat and only drinks blood but must he sound so unenthusiastic about food? Does he even know the heavenly taste of a rabbit or a penguin? Especially a fox? My mouth started salivating as I remembered the fox Amoux hunted that day in my Pack. It was so delicious!

"My name is Beta Jax Clyde. I am the King's right hand." "It's nice to meet you, sir," she said as she finally dragged her eyes up, in awe of his beauty as well. While she had been distracted by the King as soon as she walked in, the Beta blocking her view of him forced her to take in how attractive he is. She didn't even realize that she was still holding his hand, though no longer shaking it, until the King let out a soft growl. Beta Jax cleared his throat, turning to gesture to the man, who was now sitting rigid in his chair. "This is the Lycan King, Alpha Kenzo."

Her tears had dried and she looked angrier this time, with her eyes directed to King Eox, but the king’s attention was on me. A wicked smile was plastered on his face as he watched me rise from where I stood, with the vines around my body lifting me in the air. “Do you know who you are talking to?” He asked menacingly. “King Eox, as I heard.” “No one who disrespected me remains alive in my land.” He said as my body was slowly carried forward by his vines—closer to where he sat. “You don’t need to waste the energy that you take from your faes just to prove to me that you’re powerful. You can simply ask me to come to you. I can walk…”

The king grew impatient because it was almost time for dinner, and he promised to join Aileen. "You killed my mood. As a consequence, I shall kill you. Hold your peace forever," says king Viishaun as he paints the ground with blood from the person he caught. He sighed and murmured, "She'll freak out if she sees me covered with blood from this pest. I guess I better change my cape and vest before heading home."

Yet now, the bark had parted as smoothly as curtains drawn aside. No splintering. No cracking. Only an ancient invitation. The foxgloves lining the entrance swayed gently despite the complete absence of wind. Their bell-shaped blossoms glowed faintly beneath the moonlight. Purple. Lavender. Ivory. Magnus POV My mate and I walked through the beautiful gardens of the Kingdom as we heard cars driving up the main drive to the castle that we were staying in. "This place is beautiful," Chloe said as we looked at some beautiful roses. "These flowers are famous in the werewolf world," I told her. She looked at me, a look saying that I should explain. "The King had them planted after the Princess was taken. They are called the Purple Princess. Which is quite telling, considering what the colour of the eyes of the Royal wolves."

I know something is happening when we hear the sound of metal dragging along the concrete ground. Next thing I know, Summer is in front of me. Florence is blaming the Rogues. But Summer stands there defending them. She has never been one to judge others. It is a redeeming quality of hers. She only says what I am thinking. But she gives us some information. “The King has been injected with wolfsbane.” That confirms my suspicions. I firmly do not believe Isaac was involved in this. I bet my life on it. The King is placed on a stretcher on the back of a wagon. I know where they are going. I need to get there as well.

I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. “We have a week,” he said, his voice low as though he didn’t want any other person to hear. “The Kingdom’s Howling Festival is coming up, and the Alpha King will be there. It’ll be difficult to get you inside, but I’ve made arrangements. You’ll go in disguised as one of the maids. When the time is right..”he paused, holding the machete out to me, “you will stab the king with this.”

Zed nodded toward me with a playful smile. The King followed Zed's gaze, his eyes resting on me. At that moment, the little white fox burst out of my arms, sniffing the air before looking at the King with a surprised expression. "Gosh! What a pleasant surprise!" The king's face instantly lit up with joy as he slowly opened his palms. The little white fox eagerly leaped from my shoulder into the king's arms and bounced up and down with excitement. "Come on, Caitlyn, state your wish," the king urged.
