Chapter 12: The Daily Fang The final whistle blew across the field, sharp and final. Students streamed off the grass—vampires laughing too loud, humans wiping sweat and trying to look like they hadn’t just been outrun by immortals. Nico stayed on the bleachers a minute longer, letting the crowd thin before he stood. His leg felt perfect. Too perfect.
