They spilled over, and I quickly wiped them away, embarrassed by my weakness.
“I don’t know how to do this,” I admitted, my voice breaking. “I’m not ready, Marcellus. I don’t even understand what it means to be Luna, and now... now this?”
His hands tightened around mine, and his gaze softened, filled with something that looked like pride and determination.
“Fiona,” he said firmly, “you don’t have to do this alone. I will be here every step of the way. For you. For them.”
He placed a hand on my stomach, his touch light and reverent. “Our children,” he whispered, a smile spreading across his face. “Do you know how happy I am, Fiona? How blessed I feel?”
