THE MATE HE COULDN'T CLAIM

THE MATE HE COULDN'T CLAIM

Already fading. When we reached the blood tree, the rogues set her down gently. The bark was dark, almost black, streaked with veins of crimson as if the tree itself bled. It pulsed faintly when I touched it, and a shiver ran through me. “She belongs here,” Asha whispered, her voice trembling. Yes. She did. I thought I would speak easily. Mama Oya had given me so much—her wisdom, her maddening riddles, her steady faith. But when I stepped forward, the words caught in my throat.

And watched it burn. From Senegal, a handwritten envelope arrived. Inside: a note from Aya, the twelve-year-old Sophie once visited at the Phoenix School. “Dear Ms. Sophie, Today, we learned about truth trees. My teacher said trees don’t need to shout to grow. They just reach for the sun. You were my sun. Now I’m growing. Thank you for not cutting yourself down to please anyone. I hope I can be like that too.” Sophie read it twice. Then tucked it in her coat pocket.

Book of Mirrors I: The Celestials

Book of Mirrors I: The Celestials

Alice hummed in agreement,"Though honestly, Tina, shouldn't you know this already? You have been reading the book I gave you, right?" "Well, I had two unwanted trips to Hell in the past few days, so no," Tina replied, meeting Minho's eyes. He raised his eyebrows at her in amusement. "Fair enough," Alice shrugged. Crouching into the ground, she touched the soil beneath her. The area shook as a golden beam erupted from her palm. Alice removed her touch, stood up, and a tree was erected from where she stood. On the tree's wide trunk was a door. "Welcome home."

Professor Dunston arrived with his magic as he said-" Yes, The book is gone and the tree is on the verge of dying. We have to act fast and bring back the book before it's too late" I mumbled-" Oh dear... what have you done? The Girl Who Unknowingly Became Harem Queen

The Girl Who Unknowingly Became Harem Queen

Charlotte led the children deep within the forest, away from the streets and residents, as she felt a chill in the air that caused goosebumps to break out on her skin. Maria's sense of paranoia only got worse the more they journeyed into the forest. It didn't take long for Charlotte to pause. "Welcome to the Sacred Grounds of Gaia," Charlotte solemnly announced as the children rested their young, innocent eyes on the gigantic tree that stood before them. The wild branches of the tree were thick and robust, but it was the trunk that mainly caught the children's attention.

Let's Pretend (book 1)

James asked, “were you going to give Papa his gift now?” “What?” William sat up. Nodding, Mercedes stood. “Yes, James, if you think your father is ready for it.” “Papa,” Lizzy said, tugging on William’s waistcoat. “You ready?” William laughed. “I’m always ready for gifts.” Mercedes went to the bookshelf and lifted the wrapped package on top. She brought it to him, her eyes never leaving his. She knelt beside him and smiled. “I have waited for the right moment to give this to you, and I suppose now is a perfect time.”

The Day She Stopped Waiting

The Day She Stopped Waiting

Then a voice echoed. Soft. Ancient. "WELCOME." The group froze. Immediately. Then the tree moved. Not the branches. Not the leaves. The trunk. A face slowly emerged from the bark. Eyes opened. Ancient eyes. Older than kingdoms. Older than crowns. Older than memory. Then the tree smiled. Then: "THE HEIRS HAVE RETURNED." The clearing trembled. Then Darius slowly lifted his hammer. Then: "Trees aren't supposed to talk."

10 chapters in and I hope it’s second chance book. I love a good “leaving my shitty husband for a better man” plot but sometimes I love a good “I need to get my wife back” plot as well. Sometimes I want to read about how a relationship was pulled back from the brink and I feel this is goi to be it.

Alpha's Regret: Mommy, Daddy, We Want to Be Together!

Alpha's Regret: Mommy, Daddy, We Want to Be Together!

' she stammered. "'Because,' the Oak explained, 'your broken branches provide shelter from the wind and rain. You offer a unique sanctuary, a haven of peace amidst the storm. You are different, Willow, and that is your strength. You offer something the other trees cannot.' “Willow, humbled, began to understand. She was no longer just a tree; she was a symbol of resilience, a reminder that even in the face of adversity, life finds a way to bloom. Her scars were not a mark of weakness, but a testament to her strength, a story of survival etched into her very being.”

Honestly, I'm team Lucas. Nathan had his chance but he made choices and has to live with those choices. Lucas has accepted Sophia and loved her through the ups and downs. He has been patient and loving through it all.
Mave Noir
Even though I am not trying to justify what Nathan but some people just don't know how to handle pain and react on the moment, on the emotions they are feeling. Banishing was too far, but she has Luca now and I am rooting for whosoever she eventually picks.

My Fairy Mate

My Fairy Mate

The girl took out a brown-bound book and started reading the notes inside. Ana continued to go deeper and deeper. At the moment she hadn't found anything. There was not a single animal roaming around and nothing strange. Ana continued walking about five hundred meters from the entrance gate, Ana found a tree like the one described in the book. Ana stared at the tree and then read the note in the book. 'Two trees with carvings of five crescents that seem to reflect light.' Ana held the carved symbol of one of the trees. "There is no mistake, this must be the tree in book." Ana looked around, there was nothing special around there.

The Strange Case of Mary Rookes: The BTGs Case Two

They were both ‘pushed’ off the tree by a strong force and nearly fell over. Amber stared at Isabella for a long time. “How?” Isabella looked at her. “It was a gift.” “From the tree?” “The tree just helped.” She turned toward it and smiled. “Thank you.” The both heard without any doubt in their minds the tree say “You are welcome.” Amber looked at it. “What is your name?” The tree was silent for a long time before it spoke to them again. “Arthur…that will suffice.” “Thank you, Arthur.” Amber felt reverence for the tree.
