“May 16th, approximately 2:13 in the morning.”
“Okay,” Lina shrugged. “You know my birthday. What’s that mean?”
“It means, girl,” The Goddess said pointedly, “That I’m Nyssa, the Goddess of Life. I was there when you took your first breath, and Sephtis here—” She waved her hand to where he stood, “Will be there for your last.”
Lina trailed her eyes over Sephtis slowly, her expression blank. Sephtis, either trying to be friendly or intimidating, peeled his lips back in what I assumed was meant to be a smile. His leathery wings twitched on his back.
