The Guardian's Mate
I hated that I cared.
A week ago, I would have celebrated being left alone. Now the silence made me nervous. My fingers tightened around the edge of the book.
"Get a grip, Sophia," I muttered.
Ethan was a Guardian. He could take care of himself. Still, the feeling wouldn't leave. I finally closed the book and stood. Maybe I should look for him. The thought surprised me.
Since when was I looking for wolves? Since Ethan. I immediately pushed the thought away. The bond wasn't changing me. At least, that was what I told myself. Leaving the library, I walked toward the upper floors.
