Something in my face must have told her the answer before she even asked. “The Guild,” she said quietly. “They’re coming.” She studied me for a moment. “What happened in the council?” I closed the door behind me.

Zyphre declared his stance in this case. “Do you think that I will let them touch her?” I asked him sarcastically, pissed by his distrust in me. He snorted but didn’t say a word. We stopped in front of a door again. Noah did something to open the door. The door slid at one side without making any sound. We entered the room and I saw a few other members of our guild already sitting around the round table in the middle. “Gabriel. How are you doing, bro?” Micah, another member of my age, and also the future alpha of the Red Moon Pack.

“Every time you use them, I see it. They don’t fight you. They feed you. And you… you let them. Don’t you?” The words hit harder than any blade. Not because they weren’t true, but because they were truer than he wanted her to know. Before he could shape a reply, movement rippled across the sanctum floor. It's like they're waiting for me to slip up. It's not new, they've always been like that. Always sticking their nose into my business. Fucking bastards.
