I smelled the settlement before I saw it. Smoke. Meat cooking. Noise. I came through the trees and stopped. Two wolves were sitting cross-legged in the middle of the road gambling with bone dice like they owned it and everyone else was the problem.

Kael forced his legs to move. Step by step, they approached the writhing gate. The closer they came, the louder the whispers grew—not just for Kael now, but for all of them. He saw it in their faces, the way Brann twitched, the way Liora’s lips trembled, the way Seris’s hand shook ever so slightly though she hid it well. The gate pulsed. The Nightmare waited. And Kael knew—when they stepped through, nothing would ever be the same. ☠️ End of Chapter 13

Willow thought. Waking up from the soft white carpet, Willow walked to the kitchen sink and poured a generous amount of dish washing liquid on her finger. She lathered her hand and started to tug at the ring desperately. The harder she pulled ,the tighter it became. The pain started to become unbearable and after a few minutes of struggling, she finally gave up and rinsed her hand. Tatiana chuckled while watching the two bickering with each other. She will surely miss this kind of argument with the two.
