The Hunger Games Let The Games Begin Novels & Stories

"Are you saying that Langston can't handle him?" Reed looked at me sternly, "I trust my buddy, but that shit over there's using steroids!" I gulped deeper. Shit. "THE GAME WILL START IN 5, 4," The announcer announced while chewing his chewing gum. How rude... "3, 2, 1! LET THE GAMES BEGIN!" Then the loud siren came from the huge speakers. What is this, The Hunger Games? I gulped and silently prayed, dear lord, I don't want him to be disabled! I mean, who would take me home?

Hesitant Dive Kitty opened her eyes. It was morning again. The day started like the ones that came before; Kenneth left for work, and she did hours later. Absentmindedly she made her way through the day being somewhere else. Kitty was aware of what her body was doing but not her mind. In this state, she fixed the house and cleaned herself before heading for the grocery store.

I drift off to sleep on the plane on the way back to Texas, only to awaken after having a very vivid dream or maybe I should say fantasy of Drake. I pour myself a drink and try to relax. I decided to change clothes and freshen up, just in case Drake met me at the airfield. Silly how I have to remind myself this is all just a game. I catch myself wanting him, wanting to please him, wanting to give myself to him. I have to remember that I want to hurt him, make him regret how he treated me. Lila, my wolf also reacts to Drake so strongly I constantly have to reign in. I continue to sip the burning alcohol that I am drinking, my excitement continues to grow at the thought of seeing Drake. “Greggory! I want all my men inside” “Alpha, we can’t leave you” “Go now!” Greggory bowed and organized the men to move back into the pack’s borders. Arachne laughed, the ring sounding through the trees an omen of misery and desolation. "I see you finally became the Alpha you wanted to become. If you’re sure this is what you want to do, then I’d like to announce-" she breathed. "The games have begun."

In my past life, my class cornered me on the school rooftop after our SAT. "Winnie wouldn't have jumped if you didn't rat us out!" "You ruined our chances to make it into Croma, the best college there is! We had a million staked on this!" With the class officer taking the lead, over a dozen pairs of hands pushed me at the same time. I could hear the howling in my ears as I fell, and they were all laughing in relief. When I opened my eyes again, I was alive and sitting in class on the day before our SAT. Winnie Ascott was standing up front, her phone screen projected on the whiteboard. She was presenting an app called the Ultimate Answer Sheet, with an electronic contract beside it. "

"Did you not hear what I said earlier. I want you. And I know you want me. So let's quit the games and skip to the good parts." "No!" Eden bunched her hands on her lap. She was very close to losing her shit all over him. "We are not skipping to any good parts, Mr Anderson, because there are no good parts." Liam fell silent for a moment, a pensive look in his eyes as he fixed her in place with his intense stare. Eden was happy to watch him watch her, and she was determined to outsit him in silence. Soon though, she grew restless, and she began to squirm and fidget in her chair.

I looked around the party hall as we entered; it was beautiful. "Welcome to our 30th mating party! Ladies and gentlemen, put on your masks! Now, may we have all the ladies come up here?" A woman, who I think was the MC, grabbed our attention. We all stood up and went to the stage. "Okay! We will be rating you on your strength and beauty to impress your mate." I just sat in my seat as I watched them participate, along with Jess, who also wasn't interested in finding another mate. The MC continued calling the names while I secured my mask on my face.

When I did, my body went cold. I wasn't sure I heard right. Did she just say 'our' pups? I... I had pups..?! **************** CHAPTER 1 4 YEARS AGO. LYRA. "Ladies and Lords!" Lord Bailey's voice boomed through the grand hall, his lips stretching into a dark smile. "It is time for the GAMES!" A loud cheer erupted around me, and my stomach dropped instantly. I placed the last goblet of wine onto the table and immediately turned to leave. Nights like this never ended well for omegas.

If one looked farther still, they would see Lake Genivia reflected sunlight like scattered gold. I leaned back into my seat and closed my eyes. The cold and despair from that freezer in my past life had finally faded away. Those who were responsible for that cold had been consumed by the poison they brewed themselves. From now on, my future would be one lined with warmth.
