CHAPTER 30: The Snake Inside Vincenzo’s Pov I just stood there after the kiss. It was so stupid. I kissed her in that dark hallway. I shouldn't have done that. I'm the Don, i don’t just kiss people whenever I feel like it. I’m the boss of everything but she was right there, and she looked so mad at me for showing her off at the party. I liked that she was mad. She didn’t look scared at all. She just looked angry. I pulled away and left fast before I did anything else totally dumb.

From the corner of my eye, I see Larsen bite down on his lower lip. "Oh yeah."

She pointed at the hickey on her collarbone. "That's the Death lords!" She spat out with a victorious smile on her face. "Are you showing off right now?" Lauren asked. "Stop lieing, the Death lord wouldn't kiss you, maybe one of those guards at the gate gave you that, don't you think girls?" Lauren asked.

News was already traveling and people were running towards the scene. The elites were always drawn to chaos, like moths to a flame. I paid them no attention. I didn’t care if they started to hate me and pick on me again for touching their beloved Hunter. “I think I have to cash in on your slaps, it’s becoming a bad habit. Starting with this one.” His lips slam down on mine as he grabbed my nape, forcing my mouth open. The people around us gasp again, cameras start recording. I refused to be humiliated like this. So even though I just wanted to give in to the raging yet calming and assuring kiss, I fight him. My fingers come up and my nails scratch his arms. I hope I draw blood. He hisses yet

We all sat with our drinks as James mingled through the group of women and men that hung around the gathering pit as they chugged down drink after drink of wine and ale. There seemed to be no code of respect or boundaries, as he would flirt and grab the ass cheeks of most of the women whilst their mates stood close by. In fact, they all seemed extremely forward with one another. I noticed one man with a bonding ring on his finger kissing the lips of one woman, then moments later he was sitting with a different woman on his lap as they flirted and giggled to each other, with his hand running up and down her thigh, and her hand toying with the buttons on his shirt.

The few that are still left are the ones that normally like to hang out for most of the night with us. "How about, we watch the next movie in the Fast and Furious franchise? What is it called again?" I ask him. "2 Fast 2 Furious. Sounds perfect to me." He says before swooping down and stealing another much longer kiss than before. Once again the pack members that are still in attendance begin to cheer us on making me laugh. I feel light and carefree as I kiss Dante with no regard. This is where I belong. I will always belong here. With him. With the pack. Forever.

A hoarse growl escaped his lips, and I savored the taste of his minty and sweet kiss, a familiar sensation I had experienced before. But now... there was something different.
