I don’t think I have much time left, so I wanted to tell you that I am proud of everything you have accomplished. I know I don’t say it very often, but I love you and I am proud of you.” Listening to him, I felt a little uneasy with the way he was talking. I knew he didn’t have much time left, but it almost sounded as if he were telling me goodbye already. I thought I had mentally and emotionally prepared myself, but in reality, I had ignored it.
