like a big deal, I noted reading through so interesting titles, but not the specific one I was looking for. I swooped through the titles vainly searching for the one book I needed, to no avail. I groaned turning around, leaning on a shelf. I watched as a woman came into the row with a bunch of books in her arms and started packing them. A librarian. Bingo. I walked towards her, tapping her on the shoulder, "excuse me miss," She turned towards me, pushing her glasses down. She looked a little over forty, with hints of wrinkles but luscious brown hair pulled up in a bun. She wore a plain grey dress that went a little way past her knees.

“This is the narrowed selection?” The librarian nods at me, giving us both an eager smile. “Thank you,” Roger says, smiling back at her warmly. “I’ll be here if you need me,” the librarian says, gesturing towards the desk at the head of the room. “But please, make yourself at home. Just…” she hesitates, looking between us. “Please no…food or drink…around the books.” “We promise,” Roger says, giving her the most charming smile I’ve ever seen from him. “We’ll protect the books at all costs. No sticky fingers here.” The librarian blushes, then giggles, and scurries away.

Since it was still day time, I knew I couldn't go to the gardens, I didn't have my usual jobs any longer as I would be serving the queen herself and so I made my way to the one place I knew there wouldn't be anybody, not even Merilyn, the library. This time around, I needed some time alone to collect my thoughts and get myself back together. I wasn't going to be reading any books, or at least that's what I thought. When I got there, as expected, there was only the Librarian. The Lycans never really cared about the books, I wondered why they needed a library in the palace. I search for the better part of the night and come up with nothing. I look through shelves and stacks, I read through titles and half the one thousand green books that are in here are touched by me in one way or the other. No other text mentions Aquinas Ashyrn of famed starlight, and nothing else mentions his wife. A voice interrupts my frustrated stuttering brain. “She’s in there.” I raise bleary sleep filled eyes and look up from the pile of books that surround me. A scowl lines my face when I see the librarian, sneering.

With a polite smile, she responded, "Hello. How may I assist you?" Curiosity gleaming in his eyes, he inquired, "Is this a place where one can find a vast array of books to delve into?" Vivian couldn't help but inwardly question if he had somehow missed the vast collection of books surrounding them. However, she maintained her composure and replied with polite professionalism, "Certainly! This library offers a wide variety of books to suit all tastes and interests. And the best part is, they are all available for free reading. If you possess a library card, you can even borrow books to enjoy at home."

His female friend slid the reference board to the left, revealing the outline of an embedded door. "Yeah. Just walk along the tunnel. You'll come to a series of rock stairs. Head down, and you'll get what you want. We don't have enough space for all the books delivered to us. Up till now, you're perhaps the only one who requested this genre," she explained. Miracle nodded and entered the librarian zone. As she opened the embedded door and glanced behind her, she was stunned for a moment to find that the librarians weren't leading the way. She was going to do it alone.

So I watched the people. One evening, I intentionally returned a book much later than necessary. The librarian smiled warmly as she accepted it. "You've been reading quite a lot, Luna." "I'm trying to understand the dynasty." She laughed softly. "Books help." "They do." I smiled back "But conversations help more." she said, again I tilted my head. "What kind of conversations?" "The ones people don't realize they're having." I smiled. "I'll remember that." She smiled back. We spoke for another fifteen minutes. About nothing important. Or so it appeared.

"What do you think you're doing?" Startled, I spun around to see the elderly Librarian. His bushy eyebrows were furrowed in anger. I straightened, book in hand. "I was just looking for some information," I replied, calmly. What was the big deal? He shuffled closer, his gaze falling on the chest. His eyes widened a fraction. He cleared his throat. "Those books," he began, his voice low, "they're not for the likes of you. You're not supposed to have found them."

Intrigued by the situation, I start picking up the books near me, heading towards the man I imagine to be the librarian. The library floor is made of dark wood, with wide planks that fit together perfectly, forming a harmonious pattern that seems to whisper ancient stories with each step taken. The corridors are wide, allowing one to walk comfortably among the many bookshelves made of wood, two shades lighter than the floor, filled with books that carry centuries of knowledge, even though many now lie on the floor. The library exudes a sense of order, as if the books have chosen to scatter on the floor deliberately, in a momentary act of rebellion.

Elara stepped inside quietly, closing the door behind her. The space was still. Shelves lined the walls from floor to ceiling, filled with books that few people in the pack had time for anymore. Most preferred faster access, screens, summaries, updates. Efficient. Useful. The library was neither. That was why she liked it. Elara moved between the shelves slowly, her fingers brushing lightly over the spines as she passed. Some were worn, pages softened from age. Others were newer, untouched. She stopped near the back and pulled one free.
