“But it’s the weekend, so I’m not doing any more work today. Pinky promise.” A pleased smile spread across Elijah’s face. “Perfect. I was thinking we could take a family trip to the library today.” … An hour later, we were walking through the grand double doors of the pack’s central library. The building was one of the oldest in the territory, constructed of weathered stone with soaring ceilings and tall windows that bathed the interior in natural light. The scent of old books and wood filled the air.

Somehow I ended up climbing stairs and reached the third floor and here I pushed open a random door and ended up in the library. Just great. This is where more sheep come to hide from the popular sheep! But it was almost empty except for the huge rows of shelves filled with early book editions that would make the National Library jealous. There were so many books and many of them were leather-bound. Somehow the architect had made the library like a big sphere and the center isle cut it into two halves and that diameter led to the librarian’s desk. The librarian was a sleepy grey-haired woman with glasses who had her nose buried in a voluminous book. I slipped inside one of the isles to hide

I winked at the teenagers at the front. "Every week the library will be stocked with new books, every fictional and non fictional, science , or art themed book you know where to search." I said and they all cheered. "So incase you are looking for a whole harry potter series in one place. You know where to run to!" Reynolds added and the entire place busted with applause. I cut the ribbon and the flash lights captured the moment. I took a couple of pictures with the children before they rushed inside the library. As i climbed the stairs. I saw a child and his mother. He looked familiar. Like i knew him somewhere.

On my way home, I stop by the Lending Library. Our neighborhood has been blessed with a wonderful treasure, the Lending Library. It's the most sacred of treasures for a reader like me. The idea is, I read a book, and when I'm finished, I return it to the Lending Library for someone else to read. The Lending Library is a large bookshelf that stands on a post. It resembles a mailbox.
