Woodneath Library Center Novels & Stories

The rain was hitting the tall windows of the Cedarville Public Library like handfuls of gravel. Owen sat at the front desk, scrolling through the late return fees on his computer monitor, the blue light reflecting off his wire-rimmed glasses. It was 8:47 PM on a Friday. The library stayed open until nine on Fridays, a policy Owen had never understood. Nobody came in on Friday nights. Nobody except the rain and the quiet.

I had told him when I became Luna that he didn't have to lower his head when it was just the two of us, mostly because we spent so much time together that I was sure he'd develop neck problems if he did. Reed pulled up and parked in front of the oldest brick building in town, the library. While this place did house books on strategies, werewolf history and our records of the war, it was also our command center. A sign hung out front of the two story building that read, Private Collection: Appointment Only just in case any humans were travelling through town and tried to enter.

How could he find this hidden library anyway? Noel strategically chose his library's location to be on the most secluded place, away from the bustling city of Westwood. He chose his place carefully, at the back of the alleyway of a suburban road north to the capital of Westwood, near the so-called death forest which people said that meat ravaging ghosts who kidnapped people and scattered their blood everywhere on the roadside. Actually, the legend about the ghost weren’t true at all. There’s nothing, except for some psychopath who hid inside an abandoned house inside the forest and killed people occasionally. For an uncouth an inhumanely imbecile like him, Noel gladly presented his bloodied

“What could you possibly have to do that’s so time consuming?” “Are you kidding?” I folded my arms. “Look at this place. I bet you wouldn’t last one hour running a facility as large as this.” Jake sighed and nodded as he looked around. The Greenbrooke Library was huge. It was two stories high with a coffee shop on the second floor, and there was even a garden out back where people could sit and read as they enjoyed the nature around them. I only had one assistant but she was hardly ever in because of her many doctor’s appointments.

Nyra POV The library stood a little apart from the rest of Vandwood, not hidden exactly, but quiet in a way that made it feel separate from the noise and strain pressing on the pack lately. Even from outside, it carried the weight of years. The building itself was older than most of the homes in town, its stones darkened by weather and age, its tall windows catching the morning light in pale, dusty bands. Vines had once climbed partway up one side, but someone had cut them back recently, leaving only faint marks where they had clung. The steps leading up to the entrance were worn down in the middle from generations of feet. That detail struck me harder than I expected. So many people had com

She then rushed toward me and hugged me before looking at the newly renovated Meadow Woods Library. I didn't modify its name, and I also didn't change much about its outside aspect. I simply made it cozier and styled it with a mix of traditional and modern elements. It's still wooden and brown on the inside, but I've added two rooms on the second floor, a balcony with a ladder to the rooftop, and a spiral staircase that goes from the backyard with a mini pool in it, and it now has trimmed and pampered gardens of plants everywhere, making it more beautiful and serene. And every room in the house has bookcases in an astoundingly gorgeous traditional style. "I'll never grow weary of coming here

The people were writing their story at the Phoenix Center. The library at the Phoenix Center was like the heart of the building. It had arched windows that looked out at the North Slope. The green light from the vineyard poured in. Lit up the shelves. The shelves were filled with books about farming, old legal papers and handwritten notes about the soil. The air smelled like the cedar beams and the coffee that Sarah had brought from the Nairobi highlands.

ISLA’S POV: The Thorne's library was located on the West wing of the mansion behind a dark heavy oak door filled rich comforting aroma of old books. The shelves were adorned in rich mahogany which stretched towards the glass ceilings. Light rays poured through the massive arched windows brightening the dust specks that drifted lazily in the air. The scent of old parchment, polished wood, and faint sandalwood from Cade’s cologne clung to the room, seeping into me like a memory I didn’t want to acknowledge.

I wish I could ask Adam, but the last time I flung questions his way, he was caught off-guard by them. After school, I make my way to the Waindale Library with directions from Grandma. It isn't far from the high school, like most things, and I find myself at the eclectic place just as the sky turns wet. The glass doors give in against my weight, and I wander into the cozy room, up to a barren counter. "Uh, hello?" I call out softly. My eyes detour around the library as I wait, seeing only an older woman sat at a table with a few books splayed out. Large bookshelves stand in rows behind her.

Something else walked in Ashwood. And so he did what every Mayor had done in times when the balance tipped—he sought out the Order of Ash. --- The library of Ashwood stood at the northern edge of the square, a tall, skeletal building of stone and stained glass. Generations had added their touch: a new wing of shelves here, a bell tower there. Children ran through its doors daily to learn their letters. To most, it was only a place of books. But the Mayor knew better.
