I cleared my throat and looked away. 'I loved the Little mermaid too. It was sad and real, unlike most fairy tales.' What? He likes the little mermaid because it was sad? I hated the story. I read it when I was 8 and I felt really sad for the little mermaid who gave everything up for the prince and she still couldn't have him in the end. I opened my mouth to ask him if he liked it because it was sad but he beat me to it. 'What was your favorites?'

She was humming as she stared at the ceiling while she tapped her foot. “You know I can smell you.” Rogue said as her eyes went to where I was hiding. I came out as I raised the book towards her as she shrugged before I entered the room and sat down. “The building has been depressing.” I said as she chuckled. “My presence always leaves that effect on people.” She replied as I shrugged and sighed. “Do you like books?” I asked and she shook her head. “I was read the little mermaid several times as a child; it’s a terrible story since she’s a red hair.” She said as I chuckled weakly.

She was afraid of the dark, terribly afraid of it — so why was the light off? I walked toward her bed. She was lying there, nothing unusual, as if she was just sleeping. "Mr. Vincent, Miss Majori needs rest…" Harper started again. But I wasn't at ease. I sat down and reached out to touch her face, only to flinch immediately, it was ice cold. "Majori." I called her name, then lifted the blanket. My eyes widened in shock. Beneath the blanket, her fingernails had turned pale white, bloodless. I grabbed her hand, it was as cold as if it had just been pulled out of a glacier.

In Maverick’s handwriting, there was a note that read: “Does page 14 mean the data moves faster if you shorten the string? Let me know if I got that right.” I stared at the note, my heart feeling so light that I felt like a teenager again. I looked up at him, completely stunned. "Maverick... did you buy a coding textbook?"

I assumed he would be hurt and maybe he would also scream at me and stop talking for days but eventually I knew he would understand because Adrian was a good merman. I kept swimming for a good thirty-minutes until I realized I’d strayed into a much deeper end. The part of the ocean where no mermaid swam into.I panicked. I’d heard a lot of stories about the deep-end, about how mer-folk disappeared down there, eaten by a large species of fish or something more sinister. The horror stories of the deep end were infamous. In school we used to do dares and see if anyone could swim until the deep end and swim back but no one dared to do it.

"Mom, can you tell Viviana a story?" Mya told her a story about a prince and a mermaid. Viviana furrowed her brows and said, "The Little Mermaid was pitiful, but she was so infatuated! These ones are going to kill us.” “Judith,” the man returned from the back of the shop and handed Aislen a metal flask full of water. “That’s a bit grim.”

Five mermaids are holding Yūgen, Hygge and Meraki while there was a trident around their necks. I know mermaids who caught them because I have read in the book about them. I also saw in the book about the necklace they were wearing. Now they are standing and have no tail because they are given the power of the moon to take human form but when the sun shines they have to go back to the water because they will burn and die. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!" A mermaid shouted as her eyes turned into monstrous one. 'We're doomed' To be continued...

After that, there was nothing written in that tiny old worn out book making Scarlet even more pissed because , this was leading her to her origin and here all the other pages were blank. She had cursed the book writer because he/she hadn’t provided other details further which would help her to know more. But suddenly , she read the last line again and felt dumbstruck…. " 10000 years ...21st century ....a mermaid ... Am I the one about whom they are talking here in this book ..?

Things could not get more peculiar, I thought. “Strangely enough,” he replied. “The next book I seek is in a mermaid’s trove.” “A mermaid’s trove?” I repeated, amending my previous thought. “Yes, sometimes the merfolk become infatuated with the surface and collect bazaar items, which they keep in shipwrecks or undersea caves,” he explained. “This book was on board a ship which fell afoul of a storm and sank. The book should be in a crate, in the wreckage, guarded over by a mermaid.”
