She shouted, her voice echoing as she struggled against their hold. “There’s no point!” She continued, her laughter ringing sharp. “He is right in front of you… yet so out of reach! Before you can arrest him, he will claim the throne!” A chill ran down my spine as her eyes gleamed with madness. “And then,” she added, her voice dropping into something dark, venomous, “I will kill you all… as the Lycan Queen.”

they howled. "See, we told you, you could do it," they said, mind-linking me. "You will be a great queen." The howling took a long time before it went silent. The Lycan queen stood up. "That's my sons' mate and my daughter. I'm well pleased with her. She will become your queen and lead you as I do," she announced. "I, Mia Blake Jones, hereby declare Anne Hill as the queen of the Lycans." I was shocked. I looked at my mates' faces. They were shocked as well. I slowly looked at the Lycan king's face.

I looked at it — strong, scarred, stupidly steady — and took it. Not because I remembered loving him. Because I wanted to know what it felt like to do it again. --- That night, for the first time in centuries, the sky held both moonlight and dawn — side by side, not in battle, but in balance. Victoria said, loud enough for everyone to hear, and though everyone thought that Neptune and Ashton will be jealous of her words and decision, opposite to everyone's thoughts, they laughed it off before they stepped down from the stairs and took Victoria’s hands, holding each of her hand in theirs. Extending her hand, they placed her hand in Alexander's hand, who looked at them gratefully. "I might be your personal Lycan king, but it's so sad that I can't call you my personal Lycan queen," Alexander said, and Victoria's smile immediately fell, thinking he was offended by something. "You are, OUR Hybrid queen," He said before he looked at Neptune and Ashton, who engulfed her in a bear hug. "

She couldn’t show weakness. “You misunderstand,” the Queen murmured. “I do not need to take your body.” Her golden gaze burned into Lyra’s. “I am already inside it.” The words sent an icy wave of dread crashing through her. Lyra’s pulse quickened. She hadn’t defeated her. She hadn’t pushed her out. The First Lycan Queen was still here. Inside her. Waiting. Watching. Lyra forced her breathing to steady. She couldn’t panic. She wouldn’t panic.

But suddenly word of the Lycan king being alive starts to spread like a wildfire. When I was locked inside that prison, one of the firstborn alphas sons explained to me everything that he just had found out himself. He told me that his father along with the rest of the firstborn alphas had helped my father with locking the Lycan king away. He told me how our father was supposed to have killed the Lycan king pregnant mate, but it turns out she had somehow survived, and now the Lycan king would get his revenge by killing our fathers and their families.

The mark of the Crescent shone on her forehead. Then his attention locked onto the white paw that still carried the blood from my chin. His expression darkened immediately, eyes narrowing, jaw setting hard. “What is going on here?” The Lycan Queen did not stop. Frustration had driven her past all restraint. “I will kill that parasite before she corrupts my bloodline!” she growled and prepared to attack again, claws scraping against the broken threshold. Suddenly her whole body slammed against the floor. Dark energy surged around her like living shackles, the pressure so dense it made the air itself feel heavier. A low hum filled the space.

Pain flickered across her face. “No,” she said softly. “You carry what betrayal made of you.” The chamber went still. Cassian did not answer. The air between them felt old. Ancient. Personal in a way I did not understand. I looked from him to the queen. “What happened to him?” Cassian’s head snapped toward me. “No.” Queen Amara’s gaze softened. “The last Lycan king hid the Heart where no Alpha could reach it.” “In him,” I said. “Yes.”

She was about to ask again when a deafening blast broke the silence around them. "The Royal Mansion," Michael uttered. Disbelief in his eyes. "This was a fucking diversion!" Within a few seconds, she was back on her dragon with the lycans running like the wind below them. A foreboding in the pit of her stomach. Please, moon goddess.
