The Lying Game Mga Nobela at Kwento

Julian suggests, holding his glass out. “No more lies,” Nikita adds with a shrug. “I agree wholeheartedly, no more lies.” Layla moves her glass forward and they all look at me. I exhale slowly and nod, cocking a brow before I clink my glass with theirs. “No more lies!” they say in unison before we all drink. But the truth is, for the ones I love, I’ll continue to lie till the very end. THE END

“Oh, so you’ve seen the papers, haven’t you?” “You said you were going to contact them to change it.” “I lied,” she answered carelessly. “You know, the same way you lied to Dylan Bass and told him my proposal was yours.” “That’s what this is about?” “What? You think I was just going to let you get away with pulling such a dirty trick? Of course, that’s what this is about? How does it feel to not be given the credit you deserve, Dominic? I bet it’s an amazing feeling.”

We stayed in comfortable silence until Alex broke it again. “How about we play a game?” Alex suggested all of a sudden, and I shifted to look at him clearly. “Game?” “Yea. It is called three truths and a lie. You will have to spot the lie in my sentence.” “Alright. I have been around a lot of liars, so I could easily spot a lie, which means this should be easy.” It was supposed to be a jab for him, but he didn’t even acknowledge it as one, or if he had, he decided to ignore it.

Now the living room had a pair talking on video with August and their mother in her room doing the same thing. Only Lia was left with Aster and Marvin. "Looks like my mom loves your mom." They laughed. "How about we play a board game. Asher is asleep so we shouldn't make much noice." They all agreed. Lia watched Aster and Marvin fight in the game to establish their company whole she went bankrupt almost every time. But she was here for fun but these two were playing in a serious way. If Jake and Chris were here, she would win all the money. The company decides outcome of the same game, she understood.

"You know what that means. There isn't a woman from here to Thundermoon you haven't bedded. Surely there has to be at least one child from that." "I have never," he lied, "bedded any woman but you." Layla exhaled sharply. This was her least favorite game. "Oh, we are going to do this now?" She began to play with her fingernails. "I don't know what you mean and I don't appreciate these lies." Alistar said with an unearned righteous indignation. "Do I look stupid to you?" She asked rhetorically. "I must look like the biggest idiot to have ever lived if you really want me to believe that."

Her voice is annoyed and I can't help the laugh that escapes my throat. "Not that kind of game," I explain as I sit up, leaning back against the head board. "In Iraq when we couldn't sleep, we'd play a game called truth or lie, because ya know, there wasn't much you could do for a dare in the middle of a war zone. The person would say truth or lie, if it was truth, they got to tell you from what point in your life the truth had to be from, and if it was a lie, anything was fair game. So you tell me. Truth or lie." She's interested, I can tell because she's quit squirming and she's giving me her full attention. "Truth," she finally says.

The thought made my stomach twist in a way I didn’t want to examine too closely. As I turned the corner toward my locker, I noticed a big crowd gathered in front of the notice board. People were talking excitedly, pointing at a new poster. I slowed down and moved closer to see what everyone was looking at. The poster was colorful and bold: **“NEVER KISS AND TELL”** **Valentine’s Special Game** Blindfolded kissing line. Kiss the boy your instincts tell you is the one. No names. No talking. Just lips and fate.

“Keep talking then… so I don’t walk into a wall.” I smirked, circling her slowly as I spoke. “You lied to me tonight, little liar. Sneaked out in this little dress that barely covers your ass. Let other men stare at what belongs to me. And then you let me finger that greedy pussy on the dance floor while hundreds of people were around us.” My voice dropped lower, darker. “You were so wet for me. Dripping down my fingers like you couldn’t wait to be fucked.” Lizzie’s breathing grew heavier. She moved toward my voice, cheeks flushed beneath the blindfold.

The vibing continued, including the loud noise the music was creating until Mia lifted her hand up; she was visibly drunk. “This is no fun," she declared loudly, leaning back in her seat. “Why don't we play a game?" She said, and a few people cheered. “What kind of games" someone asked. “Relationship game!" Another voice suggested, from the crowd. “Hmmm.. that's a good one," Mia said. “Since it's a new section, those who's got boyfriends: claim them, and that gives the singles a chance to mingle. Right?" She said and laughter spread.

When I finally picked up, the first thing she said was, “Honey, I’m feeling really unwell today. Can you wire me two thousand dollars? I need to get more asthma medication.” Hearing her voice, a scoff surfaced in my heart. She had no idea I had uncovered her lies. She still thought I was the same gullible fool she could push around. If I sent her the money now, she would definitely use it to refill Derek’s medication. With that thought, I replied coldly, “I’m in the hospital. I don’t have money to send you.”
