Cancel the Cradle, Cue the Rage
Everyone's eyes were on me, fearful, pleading, as if seeking mercy.
"I know what you all are thinking right now," I said. "You want me to drop the lawsuit. You want me to let you go. The thing is, I could."
A flicker of hope lit up in everyone's eyes.
"But I have one condition," I added, looking around the room, letting the silence stretch before I spoke again. "There are 25 names on that lawsuit, but I'll only take one of you to court—the one whose name remains last on the list. Whoever that is, you'll decide among yourselves."
