Blood and moonlight
A cold, unnatural wind howled through the broken arches.
The Temple of Ruin.
Ava drew a shaky breath.
This was it.
The place where destiny would either crown her or crush her.
Her horse shifted nervously beneath her, sensing the unnatural energy that saturated the place.
Without a word, Ava slid from the saddle and started forward.
Her boots crunched over the wet, broken stones, each step louder than the last. Thunder rumbled in the distance, a warning — or a promise.
And then, from the mist, a figure emerged.
