The bass vibrated through the floorboards, the room filled with the warm, beautiful faces of creative POC students dancing, laughing, and holding plastic cups.
Within an hour, the three of us were completely in our element. The DJ was turning the room upside down, and we had pushed our way to the center of the makeshift dance floor.
