Breaking the Alpha's curse

Breaking the Alpha's curse

I asked, touching a particular thick book. “That one’s about bloodline history,” he said when I held it up. “It was written by a half-mad seer,” he added. His answers were brief, but still it felt like a conversation. I wanted to continue, so I grabbed a book tucked behind the others. The book was so old it looked like it had survived a fire. Its edges were burnt, and blackened. The title had long faded away, and the cover was cracked with age. “What about this one?” I asked, pointing to it without touching. “Why are you keeping it?”

THE ROYALTY OF WOLFES

THE ROYALTY OF WOLFES

— I ask at once, unable to contain my anxiety. The old man laughs some more, showing several empty spaces in his mouth where there should be teeth. — Of course, of course. Look. He takes some kind of book out of his thick coat and puts it on the sand for me to pick up, then steps back. — Girls from the continent like it a lot — he says. I reach down and pick it up. The cover is hard and there is a painting of colorful flowers.

Elias asked, shocked. Before anyone could answer, a bright light filled the cabin. Something appeared in the air before me—a book, old and worn, its pages flapping as if caught in a wind. It floated for a moment, then dropped into my hands. The moment I touched it, pictures flooded my mind: An old woman with silver hair facing a beautiful woman with black eyes. Blood dripping from stone walls as symbols glowed with blue fire. A man with a scarred face—Orion—holding a red leather book.

Carry My Child, Miss Laurier

“Okay, who is that person?” “Hemmingway. He is noted both for the intense masculinity of his writing and for his adventurous and widely publicized life. His succinct and lucid prose style exerted a powerful influence on American and British fiction in the 20th century. One of his famous book is The Old Man and the Sea—a novella written himself.” While I am continuously answering his question, I found his gaze and saw him staring intently at me as he waited for my next words. I bit my tongue, already distracted on the way he look at me so I look on my right only to see Rael, Nathan and Levi looking so proud at me. I lick my lower lip one more time as I continue what I was about to say earlier

Project: Villainess

I managed to plaster a huge smile on my face before my grip started to loosen. “I love you” I whispered into thin air as the cold water of the sea welcomed me with open arms. Is this how my life ends? My arms are sore, my legs are numb, and I’m slowly running out of breath. I tried opening my eyes to see the underwater for the first and last time when suddenly something caught my eye. My book! It was as if it swam its way towards me and the moment it touched my reaching hand, a bright light pulled me inside. Wait what?! What’s this? I can breathe!

The Girl of an Old Mansion

The Girl of an Old Mansion

His condition was worsening with every word he spoke, his eyes were getting heavier with no trace of light in them. With his remaining energy he struggled to explain something to them. Putting together every ounce of energy he had left words tumbled out of his mouth. "The-the sea of dead...is...merciless to its travellers. You will only have one day to find the book...and...come out of the desert safely." "With every moment that...that passes, the more traces of your existence will...disappear," with these last words, the old man closed his eyes forever. Witnessing the tragic death of a great scholar who once happened to be well known and admired by many people for a long time, somewhere sho

The Secretly Rich Man

Truth be told, he didn’t mind sleeping on the floor, but at the very least, he wanted to sleep someplace away from the wind and rain… “Speaking of which, where’s the general area of that island?” asked the old man who had nearly finished eating the entire chicken on his own. “Northbay,” replied Gerald. “Finally, a familiar name. If I’m not mistaken, there’s an ancient book about the islands in Northbay on that bookshelf, though I’m not sure which book it is,” said the old man as he licked his fingers clean before pointing at one of the shelves. “Oh?” replied Gerald, his eyes momentarily glinting with excitement.

It's a good book as far as I have read so far. I'm getting discouraged, though. I'm running out of patience and time for these types of stories. "Neverending" stories where some chapters repeat themselves for some reason or other drives me bunkers. Just saying. I prefer shorter stories.

CAPTAIN CASABLANCA

’ He argued with the old man. James Alfred was just smiling, and then said, ‘actually you’re right. I actually wrote in the book that Captain Casablanca died. Truly, he died. I mean, he slept off awhile, but not dead. After the wreckage of my ship, my body was floating on the sea, it was a group of fishermen, fishing that saw my lifeless body on a plank, floating on the sea, that rescued me. They took me into their ship and revived me back. I wasn’t totally died. They gave me food to eat, and from that moment, I had a changed of mind. I had been living my life in destruction all the while. I joined the fishermen crew, and became a fisherman. Can you imagine the numbers of life that was lost
