The Cursed Alpha's Slave

The Cursed Alpha's Slave

"Thought you were dead at first. But then you coughed up half the sea and groaned something about a man named Leonidas, so I figured you might be worth saving." My heart clenched at the name. Leonidas. "How did I get here? I was in the water for—" I stopped, trying to remember. The storm. The boat. Swimming until I couldn't swim anymore. "The currents around here are tricky," the old man said, settling back into his chair. "They'll pull you out to sea or push you to shore depending on their mood. You got lucky. Another few hours in that water and even I couldn't have saved you."

The stairs are to her right and she climbs them, leading to a small walkway that circles the room. Dragging her hand beside, she brushes the tips of her fingers against the paper-covered books. Each book on the shelf is wrapped in a thin, tan type of paper with the title and author written on the side. Bella reads the binding covers until she finds a book that stops her in her tracks. The book that just so happened to have been her mother's favorite book in the whole wide world. The Old Man And The Sea by Ernest Hemingway. Bella lifts the book, flipping open the cover. She flips to the first page and reads the first paragraph. The second paragraph had always been her favorite part of the boo

Because to do so, would be to possibly acknowledge an act—acts, plural—that were unspeakable, atrocious, and a deception of the highest magnitude. He pushed those thoughts from his mind and tried to give more focus to the older man currently pacing the front of the room excitedly. “Ernest Hemingway wrote many cherished novels, but I’d like you all to focus on his work titled The old man and the sea. Over the next week,” explained the jovial Dr. Pike, his crinkly blue eyes alight, “I want you to read it. But not just see the words, feel the words. Allow them to soak into your bones. Only then will you be able to gain an understanding of the undertones of a simple tale of fishing, and an older

Neither pulled away. Lunch was simple, fresh fruit, bread, cheese, olives. They ate on the shaded lower deck, legs stretched out on the cushioned bench. He asked about the book she had been pretending to read for weeks. “It’s about a woman who leaves everything behind,” she said. “She walks into the sea and disappears.” He looked at her. “Does she come back?” Elena shrugged. “The book ends before we find out.” He smiled. “I hate books that do that.”

TRADING MY CHEATING HUSBAND FOR THE LYCAN KING

“Here’s the trouble, girl. You’ve read a book, and you’ve a borrowed name, and a spine that doesn’t fold when I push it, and that’s more than most who come through that door. But it isn’t enough. Because the grade you want doesn’t forgive a reader who’s never had her hands in it. It forgives nothing. And I’ve no way of knowing, from a clever answer and a sad story, whether you can be trusted not to kill the very woman you came here to save.” “Then how do I show you?” The two of them look at each other again. And this time the look lasts longer, and there’s something in it I don’t like, something that prickles up the back of my neck. And when they turn back to me the old man has already start

Remi, I love your storyline and the detail that you put into it ! ! You as I've been saying have a great flair for words that bring your plots alive and I say plots because you have a unique ability to have several ongoing plots that come together, then slip away yet coming back together.

Found this on another platform and wanted to say it's so good! Characters and storyline are engaging, well-fleshed out, FLC and MLC especially, sizzle off the pages, their chemistry is off the charts. I am only up to chapter 45. So far 172 chapters, this platform has 180 (as of 6 April 2026)

“To reject the bond is to deny nature. It causes pain… madness… death.” “The wolf will always know before the man.” I felt the book tremble in my hands. My knees buckled, and I let it fall. It hit the floor with a dull thud. From across the store, the old man’s voice floated gently, “You alright over there?” I blinked, my heart racing. “Yeah. Sorry. Just… dropped it.” He didn’t respond. Just went back to his paper. I crouched down and stared at the open pages. My breath fogged the paper. My fingers trembled as I turned another.

"Can I take it and read it first?"Looking at Jason, the old man asked with a smile! After finishing his words, he couldn't wait to open the first page. Putting aside the beautiful handwriting, the theory on the first page was already shocking. "Go ahead! If it's convenient, can you write a preface to it?" Jason said. "Of course, I am very honored to write a preface to the book you wrote." The old man grinned and looked at the theory described in the book, his eyes full of admiration.

Life After Prison

Life After Prison

Severin could not see the old man's face, but his powerful cultivation distorted the surrounding space as if he had torn apart the air itself. The old man stood in the golden sea like a supreme being. Even Severin felt a strong sense of oppression when met with those intimidating eyes. It was as if he was looking at the devil himself! The majestic breath of death lingered in the air as though he had fallen into a bottomless abyss of death. At that moment, the tall old man's body suddenly shone with the light of thousands of mysterious runes. The vast golden ocean beneath his feet seemed to come alive; a wave rolled up, pulling his body up infinitely.

This storyline has some interesting characters. Jada and Easton are so busy ranting and raving about Severin and Edward is making a complete donkey out of them. This is a good book. I know it’s ongoing but so far I am enjoying it. Do not miss an exciting book if you’re looking for something goo.

one of the best novels of this site. well written and great story. The only problem is Monday you get a lot of pages and chapters, and the rest of the week you get a page a day. Come on the author and this site can do better. Really about to stop reading because of this.

Carry My Child, Miss Laurier

Carry My Child, Miss Laurier

“Okay, who is that person?” “Hemmingway. He is noted both for the intense masculinity of his writing and for his adventurous and widely publicized life. His succinct and lucid prose style exerted a powerful influence on American and British fiction in the 20th century. One of his famous book is The Old Man and the Sea—a novella written himself.” While I am continuously answering his question, I found his gaze and saw him staring intently at me as he waited for my next words. I bit my tongue, already distracted on the way he look at me so I look on my right only to see Rael, Nathan and Levi looking so proud at me. I lick my lower lip one more time as I continue what I was about to say earlier

Ernest Hemingway's 'The Old Man and the Sea' feels like a quiet storm—a deceptively simple story that lingers long after you finish it. It follows Santiago, an aging Cuban fisherman who hasn't caught anything in 84 days, as he ventures far into the Gulf Stream alone to battle a massive marlin. The physical struggle is brutal—blistered hands, exhaustion, sharks circling—but the real tension is internal. Hemingway strips everything down to the essentials: one man, one fish, and the relentless push-and-pull between pride, survival, and respect for the natural world. There's something almost sacred in how Santiago talks to the marlin, calling it 'brother' even as he fights to kill it.

What gets me every time is how the story transforms from a fishing tale into this raw meditation on endurance. Santiago's not just fighting the fish; he's wrestling with his own fading strength, the whispers of doubt, and the crushing loneliness of the open sea. The way Hemingway writes those long, aching stretches of silence makes you feel the weight of every ripple in the water. And that ending—without spoiling it—isn't about victory or defeat in the usual sense. It left me staring at the wall for a good twenty minutes, wondering how something so brief could carry so much gravity. Funny how a novella about a guy in a boat can make you question your own stubbornness, your own marlins.
