His voice came snapping me out of my reverie and I was glad he spoke up cause I had a feeling that he wouldn't have liked it if I had kissed him and so I simply nodded, slipped from his lap, sat back where I was earlier and picked up the first book. It was titled 'one kiss from you by Christiana Dodd, great for the moment! I opened the pages and began to read while Orian reclined on the seat with his arms spread out paying an attentive ear to my voice.

I took it as Jerome watched us silently. “Hi gentlemen, what can I offer you?” I lifted my head to find a woman in her mid forties holding a pen in one hand and a book in another, ready to take our orders. “I’ll have an espresso martini, Mrs Rena.” Kali smiled at her. “Boss, is there anything you need?” Jerome turned to me. I told him no, and he took nothing as well.

She brushed off the affair as a one-time mistake between two consenting adults, a secret that she promised to keep to herself. "I felt sorry for her after seeing her cry her eyes out, so I decided to keep her," Jack said, looking at me with sincerity. "And it only happened that one time. I swear, darling, you have to believe me. If you're still upset, how about I fire Rhea tomorrow? Okay?" I widened my eyes in disbelief and looked at him with a mixture of shock and anguish as if the world was coming to an end. Collapsing onto the couch, I stared at him with a look of disappointment, as though I couldn't believe he could stoop so low. "So… you're firing Rhea?"

The girl said. “Same here. I actually thought that this book wasn’t popular but you’re reading it as well. Oh, I’m Kayne by the way, Kayne David.” “I’m Natsumi Koga, it’s nice to meet you!” “Ah yes, you as well. I was actually about to ask if you always come here.” Kayne asked. “Uhuh, I always go to this café every time I go to town, this is actually kind of my spot, haha.”

Somewhere in the city—several stories above, in a steel and glass building—Julian Blackwood lay in his dark, sleek bedroom, staring at the book she had given him. He'd never intended to keep it. The unmalicious and smarter part of me tells me it's a bad idea, but the tired and uncompromising other part of me has more power over me so I do it. I tuck a few of my long braids in the back of my ear. Something that would've been absolutely normal had I not been using my other hand. The hand that's on the opposite side of my body. My left hand that's now got a gigantic rock on one of the fingers. She chokes on the wine she'd just gulped and that warms my heart. "Yea, never better. Will you please excuse me for just a moment, I need to go check how far they are with the desert." She says before practically storming off the table in haste.

I feel safe being alone here because I know there are two guards outside the library. If only I could do something to help Damon. If only I had the ability to recognize who betrayed Damon. I put down the book I was reading on the table and looked at the high shelves in the library and suddenly the book I saw before came to my mind. That book was written by Alpha Devon and there is a faint suspicion that there is a torn page in that book. I know it's not unusual for a book to be torn because it's natural for a book, to tear and get old...but that book was strange. The book is old, but you will know that every paper used is durable. It can't just be torn because of its old age.

"That's it!" Charlotte felt perplexed. The Book of the Great Principles was a book self-authored by King Percival Windmere and often read by Owen. Everyone in the family knew about it. Did Faith really come here in the middle of the night just to take a few books? Gina was dismissed, and Charlotte closed the door behind her, pacing inside. She quickly scanned the bookshelf. In the innermost compartment, she opened a book cover and discovered that among the four volumes of "The Book of the Great Principles," one was missing.
