Pearl suppressed her discomfort and jealousy, still smiling as she approached Max, leaning on his arm. "I stayed because I was waiting for you, Max. Why do you seem surprised to see me here?" Pearl hugged Max's arm, her voice sweet and slightly naive. Her rounded chest pressed against his arm, visible even from a glance downwards. What man could resist the charming allure of a woman like Pearl? But lately, Max hadn't been very interested in Pearl, so no matter how sweet she acted, it didn't make him happy. He pulled Pearl's hand away from his arm and said, "Don't do that, Pearl. We're still at the company, what if someone sees us?"

"Work hard. There is no useless person like you around me." Jean gritted her teeth. She wondered how he could hit her through the screen. Have to admit, he was so rich. It was an excellent ocean golden pearl with dazzling light and a diameter of 10 millimeters. Such a pearl was extremely expensive in the market. Jean wanted to reach out secretly to pick up the pearls. "As long as you don't want your hand, just pick them up." The man's lazy voice made Jean's hand stop immediately. She cursed him in her heart and laughed, "I'm afraid someone will step on them and fall down."

"Miss Stephanie, now let's test if you're a reincarnation as well. I want you to take the white pearl in my hand as your soul representation. Peter, take the black color. Now Stephanie, with your eyes closed, I want you to hand over your pearl to Peter." Stephanie did as she was told and she began to guess which of Peter's hand her pearl was in and she got it five times. When she was done she felt a little bit happy and shocked. The audience gave a thundering round of applause. Peter said that the pearls had been divinely blessed and that anyone who wanted to try it should pay a hundred dollar fee. — The smell of garlic bread lingered in the warm air of the kitchen, mingling with the soft clatter of dishes and the low volume of a radio tuned to static-laced jazz. Dinner had been simple roasted chicken, vegetables, and mashed potatoes, but the moment was anything but ordinary. She thought of how pathetic the alchemist was. "Oh." Pearl said instead and bit her lip as her eyes shifted toward the ground. "Of course." Her voice was tiny and only slightly calculating. "I suppose I’ll have to try to search for roadkill along my hike home to feed my little darlings tonight then." A short and awkward smile perched against her lips. "It was three miles into town. Did you know that? Surely, I can find something on that long journey home, right?" Pearl's head bobbed with a continuous nod, but she didn't give up the act just yet. "The upside is that I don’t have to worry about being mugged on that long trek back home because I have absolutely nothing to my name. Nothing." Did

she cried as she slung the dusty old book across the cave at him, hoping to make it overshoot him and fly out of the cave entrance, and into the waterfall. Mister jumped to attention and caught the book with ease, while wearing a look of total irritation on his face. Once he had the book tucked safely under his arm, he turned to leave, but not before he stood there and shot Pearl the most hateful and menacing look that he had ever given her. Pearl just grabbed her chest and silently cried, as she watched him walk away.

Overjoyed, I lunged forward and snatched it up. Golden, smooth, and perfectly round, the pearl looked like a sacred jewel veiled in a faint shimmering haze, untouched by even the slightest trace of dirt. I rinsed the pearl clean, sealed it inside the transparent pouch I’d prepared beforehand, and hung it proudly around my neck. Then I strutted all the way to the chapel. Every person I passed got an eyeful of it. “See? The golden pearl I was born with isn’t black at all!!!” Watching the shock spread across everyone’s faces as the truth finally dawned on them filled me with indescribable satisfaction.

He picked up the baseball bat, weighed it in his hand, and walked closer. “Miss Harlem, are you trying to stand up for your friend?” “No! She is not my friend!” Pearl looked at the man sitting on the couch with a dark expression and quickly waved her hands in denial. “I was just worried that Mr. Blakewell didn’t have something handy, so I brought it to him!” Abel and Ruth were speechless. She gave Pearl suggestions on how to run her account and gifted her clothes. However, it did not seem to have meant anything.

For some reason, he felt that something was off… Regardless, the old man quickly began mumbling excitedly to himself as he walked over to a lone corner to admire the pearl… While his behavior was slightly odd, Gerald and Ray simply exchanged glances with one another. Whatever the case was, their mission was complete now that they had obtained the pearl. With that in mind, it meant that it was high time they finally left this horrible place… With that, Gerald then said, “…Alright, since we’ve got what we wanted, let’s hurry and leave this place already!”
